Unpredictable. Watch your backs. Or not. Whichever. I want Metal Gear Solid 4 so badly.

This is a thread to discuss different moments in video games that could either cross from being funny, or just plain weird.

1st: Resident Evil 4. I shot one of those crows and it dropped a grenade. That's fucked up.

2nd: ATV Offroad fury. The guy flew off and never came back on. Nothing special, as the camera still focuses on the guy. The ATV has no man on top during driving.

3rd: Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. Being at the Daily Bugle can sometimes get you 'falling' in the ground. Your head, hands, and feet are still there because of the barrier between the area and you just hang there while another hero beats the shit out of you.

Got any "What the hell?" moments?

I have a "What the hell!" moment but not a "What the hell?" moment.

I was playing GTA:VC, I was on a dirt bike when I crashed into a police car giving me the first star. The crash sent me flying through an alley way and the moment I landed I was arrested right away because there was a cop right next to where I landed.

I guess you've never watched anime then, or it might not have been that strange of a concept.

A moment that made me stop say "what?" was in Harvest Moon 64. To save time, I built up friendships with all the girls in the village at once so they would all marry quickly, but, of course, it also increased their affection meter.

After maxing out their affections, there was a day out of the season that consisted entirely of out-of-sequence cut scenes. Normally it would have happened only for the individual girl at the stage of their relationship but because I maxed them all, it went a little crazy. One example is a scene where Anne falls out of a tree and hurts her leg, and I have to carry her home to her bed. Immediatly afterwards it plays the scene where she walks (magic!!) outside and gives you the Cake card you dropped. Didn't you just break your leg? .-.;;

More like trying to get every gold emblem and "A" rank for every character's mission in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Now that's really... "WTF"...

Some Star Wars game for N64 or Gamecube, don't really remember. My brother was (as usual) using an All Weapons and Infinite Ammo cheat, fighting this spaceship. He used some uberweapon you're not supposed to have at that point in the game. The ship just disappeared into thin air! In the next scene only its boosters were there.

Also I went through walls several times in Space Station: Silicon Valley, died at random, etc. I've mentioned how buggy that game is before.

Heh, and sometimes in Mario Kart DS a red shell will zoom right past me, stop, turn around, and hit me. You could do similar in some battle courses on Mario Kart 64 - if an opponent's red shell got right below or above you on another floor, it'd stop dead and follow you on that floor. You could then drive it into a wall or another person.

I've also seen some damn strange glitches. Zelda 3's file select cursor went looney, half a Koopa got stuck to me in Mario is Missing, etc.

HyperHacker, something similar happened to me in Mario is Missing, except it was with the business woman. And she was blinking and shaking. I kid you not.

One time, in Donkey Kong Country, I died in Coral Capers. When I went back into the level (starting from the midway barrel), I had Enguarde for some reason. I then dropped through the ground and got stuck off-screen. I had to reset the game. I have never been able to do it again.

Lego Star Wars is actually a WTF on several levels... one, that someone came up with the notion to fuse Star Wars AND Lego... two, that the game ended up being QUITE good, so much so that the sequel (based on IV through VI) is causing a lot of buzz.

On a smaller WTF note... water fountains telling you to wash your face in Final Fantasy. And Dragon Warrior's translation, which someone at Nintendo figured would be a great idea. Enix seemed to figure out what was wrong there and rectified the... method of speech... in DW2.

I just had a "what the hell?" moment in MGS3. I was in the mountain area before meeting EVA for the second time, shooting down Hinds with the RPG-7 out of boredom. When one Hind clipped through the side of the mountain and though a shed, spoting me in the process.

Need for Speed III: I downloaded a Monster Truck, drove it around 'Home Country' on pursuit. There was a school bus driving around a corner. I shoved it against a building and somehow, it flew 1000feet in the air! It took a good 10 seconds for it to fall back down.

TimeSplitters 2: My friend broke his Gamecube and we thought we had it fixed. While we played, the cutscenes were jacked up. In the NeoTokyo cutscene, ghost's clothes were fighting, then the game froze. The sound "Whoopah!" kept repeating.

House of the Dead II: I found a very odd secret just before fighting the Emperor. If you shoot one of the doors on the sides, some blow-up doll dressed as a maid comes out and says, "Here take this!" and hands you an extra life.

Final Fight II: About 3 times, I accidentally performed a super special attack. Dean jumped up in the air with a hammer in his hand, lightening struck, and he did some humongous combo that could instantly kill a boss!!!

CarnEvil: I tried a really odd experiment. I played the haunted house level on two player, obtained the flame thrower, and shot with the other gun. Once I reached Hambone (a miniboss), I torched him to death. He didn't do anything! He just burned to death!!! I was just watching his health go down really quick. It was so freaking awesome!

Another WTF moment for me was getting chased by cop cars in Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and it had no passenger door, and a punched in roof. And the fact that the chase lasted half an hour.

I used to download custom armor sets for FFXI and swap them with existing ones just to see what they looked like. At one point I must have fucked up something fierce, because when I logged back in Jeuno people were literally missing arms, legs, sometimes their entire torsos - I used to have screenshots of dozens of disembodied heads floating around town, I laughed my ass off when I first saw it, but I can't find them

One of the later cutscenes in one of the expansions has a boss character battling some guy, and the model for one of them was corrupt. So the other guy was just flailing around as he got hit... except no one was actually doing it. Then my game crashed and I had to reinstall.

But lol
