I have played Violin and Sax but I stopped with that 5 years ago if not more.

It was fun for a while, at least.

I've been playing piano for over 20 years. I started as a child, stopped lessons when I was about ten, and just worked on stuff on my own after that. I can play some pretty complex pieces (such as a few Tori Amos covers...and my own compositions generally involve fancy fingerwork as well), but I really ought to take more lessons and work on my technique. I envy my friend Anna because she has had years of formal lessons and plays so well I thought she was a symphony recording one time when she was practicing her electric piano in the other room. But she tells me that she can't pick things up by ear or just compose out of nowhere like I do. If only we could combine forces. And then we'd have four arms and could play two keyboards at once. That would be impressive.

I have a Yamaha S80, a synth with an 88-key keyboard with very realistic weighted keys. I keep meaning to hook up the MIDI functionality, but I can never seem to get it to work on the computer end of things, so I just practice by piping the digital output directly through to my speakers. Someday I will use this behemoth for recording and not just as an electric piano with a lot of voices to it. Someday.

I also play rhythm electric guitar (I have a Fender Strat for that), but I'm so out of practice it's laughable.

I took classes for about 3 weeks, I hated it. The dude wanted me to learn Classical. I can't stand playing scales or overused chords, to many other bands do it (see Green Day ) I'm trying to develop my own style so it will be unique and stand out.

I have First Act Electric with Amp, I'm alright can learn tabs quite well

I started with a first act, but then the tone knob broke, so then I got a new and better guitar. Note: I am not telling anyone to break theirs for a new one. But I still use the portable amp at school and for praticing on the road.

I started off by learning the recorder, it was compulsory at my primary school, I can still sort of play it, but it isn't really something I want to play. I then took some piano lessons during my final year at primary school, but when I entered high school I stopped for a few years until I took lessons again for piano in year 10 and half of year 11 after which I changed from piano to singing lessons.

I still play the piano once in a while, but other than that, that’s all the instruments I know. I’ve always wanted to play the saxophone and I was looking into having lessons back in high school .. but it never really happened.

Piano.

And one day, if I ever get the time and such, I should take lessons again. I barely remember what to do from when I was a kid.

Piano, Drums, Guitar/Bass, Vibraphone/Glockenspeil and...thats about it also own an ocarina and really sorry-ass excuse for a panflute, but can play neither too proficiently (though in my defense, the panflute is hardly...legitimate, I got it at a suvenier store ) Music's just kinda my thing I guess..

I also have what's called perfect pitch. I can hear any note (and most chords excluding diminished) and usualy tell what it is without looking or consulting anything. I can also play pretty much anything from ear after hearing it once or twice. I can make up solos and some times entire songs out of thin air, I guess its pretty rare to have this ability. Or that's what everyone says, I don't try and show off though

I also do this, but at about 4-5 hours at a time. I'll just get started with a simple little rift, then just go crazy. I don't really like playing that way in front of others, but I did for my friend. We were discussing how music will probably evolve and all and i just went nuts on my guitar, his face was priceless. But my parents don't really like what I play, but meh whatever. I'm trying to talk with a metal company in teaching me welding and stuff like that, so I can build a fully metal acoustic and maybe a drum set like Slipknot did. I'll probably just play for myself in the future, can't really see me playing on stage.

BTW, if anyone has any demos or recordings of them playing it would be cool if you posted some. I don't have a decent mic, or else I'd do it.

I have a guitar sitting in my house but I sadly don't know how to use it. It used to be my sister's guitar but she nevers uses it and I have no idea why she has one in the first place.

Fabio, you could easily teach yourself the basic chords, and learn to read tabs. It's not like regular sheet music, but numbers on lines the correspond to the strings on the guitar. The numbers are where on the string you place your fingers. Very basic. If you're interested, you should try.

I'm learning how to play the guitar. I'm teaching myself, and so far I think I'm doing pretty good.

I picked up my guitar today.

I spent more time tuning it instead of actually playing it.

Geez. The only sound I made on it sounded like a mixture between cats having sex and a power drill.

Get an electric tuner. Whole process shouldn't even take 5 minutes if its not too far out of whack. Just takes a 9V battery, they're relatively cheap, and most can double as a metronome, so thats always an added plus

I'm thinking about doing that. The guitarr I have right now belongs to my school, but my music teacher lets me borrow it every day.

I play the ocarina, and I played the viola when I was little. I should maybe try playing that again some time!
