Yeah, I got bored and decided to make a poll that I dont think has been done before...
I blame things not being fun with a sore throat. Anyways... I pretty much stick to home row subconsciously... funny thing is, I never stuck to it when I learned to type in a class... I found it... "too difficult". I do stray sometimes, and I have to look down if I want to use the number pad... never do use that enough. Anyways... your turn guys |

Yeah, but not much. I stray from it a lot.
I keep my fingers near home row, but I don't really think they're ever perfect. And that's probably why my typing isn't all that fast, and often isn't accurate. Backspace is my friend. |

They're stuck there forever. I was taught to type that way in seventh grade and have stuck to it ever since.
I've also been told by dozens of people (no lie) that I'm the fastest typer they've ever seen. My boyfriend makes fun of it sometimes too! XD |

I had a very strict teacher in the computer class I took during middle school, and though I will occasionally use the "wrong" shift key, other than that I pretty consistently use "correct" typing using the home row. I have a bit of trouble with numbers sometimes as well and have to look.
But I tend to be able to write pretty quickly and accurately. |

Since I took BST, I've learned to type with home row very fast, but I find I can hunt n' peck at about the same speed.

I mostly stick to the home row but I do this unusual thing where my right hand is actually on kl;'.ff; I hit y with my left hand, n with my right, and h with usually right but sometimes I hit it with my left. Depends on the word, usually.

I stray from the home row keys a lot. In fact, I rarely keep my fingers on the keyboard to begin with. I look at the keys when I type and I'm still able to type in the same speed as when I do use the home row keys. Only difference is less mistakes when I'm not using the home rome keys.

I used to do four finger typing (index fingers and thumbs), but now I've just memorized key locations. Actually, IRC helped me do that better than my typing class in middle school did . Mavis Beacon SUCKS!

Ironically, despite my username, I don't use Home Row at all. It is just second nature for me not to use it. I don't feel as if Home Row is a very friendly way of typing, especially when it comes to typos.

The Spongebob Typing program that they have in the apple store near me... kicks... ASS. You have to like race people based on how fast and accuratly you type. I average in about 75 wpm. My sister is a beast though.. she averages like 150 wpm ACCURATLY. Beast I tell ye.
And my fingers kind of hover above the home row... but I don't think i rely on it at all when I type. I got like a 70 in typing class in like 7th grade because I couldn't follow the correct typing ediquette ever. Bite me. I can type fast and accuratly... screw ediquette. |

I never use the home row, or any other typing convention. I go for accuracy more than speed, although this sometimes changes if I feel emotionally invested in what I am saying. Often I watch the keyboard as I type, because I have faith in my ability to spot mistakes as my fingers make them without having to look at the screen. Often it works. It's pretty fast too, because it's more flexible and certain words just roll off the fingers.

Yeah, I use homerow pretty much 100% of the time. Typing fast pretty much requires it.

I tend to hover around Home Row a bit. Though in truth my style is pretty damn akward. I'm not a very good typer. I can type fast but I generally don't use all of my fingers. I tend to stick to basically four finger typing.
Pretty sad. It works though. In terms of speed and accuracy. |

I pretty much chill at the home row except when I have to use numbers. I never mastered that.

Meh, I'm more of a fan of All The Right Type. I remember there was one verison of that that had timed lessons where you drove a race car. Goof times.

I've never heard of the home row. I just know that my typing skills are very good and that I type quickly with excellent accuracy. I remember having a couple of free periods in computer class back in Grade 8 because I aced all the typing drills and other people were still typing like... well... snails. XD |
