That's great.
I have no pets, but at least if you're going to discuss pets, maybe you should provide more information. Personalities, habits, etc? Ways in which they enrich your lives? (edited by Tarale on 03-13-06 08:30 PM) (edited by Tarale on 03-13-06 08:31 PM) |

Houdi (shepoo, some stupid poodle mix I have no want to remember the name of)...
...really likes being annoying and sitting on my blanket/coming in my room/barking for no reason/dashing outside/being annoying. Apricot (my poodle) was put down 12-23-2005 after about 11 years of service to my grandparents and I. Always friendly but had a very sad way of going (cancer)... even survived things like being hit by a car and such... |

Well, I for one am just happy there wasn't mention in this thread of owning a Snifit of some sort
As for what pets owned by me, while I don't have anything with me at school, at home I have a cute little beagle, who despite being over 10 years old still acts like a puppy. He's a bit jumpy, though, and rather easily scared. Beyond that, he's a great pet. |

I've had a far share of pets growing up. We have 2 dogs, the little one is a mini foxie and the other is a Jack-Russel/Fox Terrier/and some other breed. The mini foxie is about 2 years old whereas the other is 10 years, so he is getting on in age.
We also have 5 birds, it was originally just the one, but then a friend of my mums couldn't afford to keep her birds so we got to more into the family, then for some odd reason they went out and brought another bird and we ended up having that one too. But because the first three are cockatiels and the other was a budgie, we decided to get another budgie to keep him company ... |

I have some pets. Well, at least they're the closest I have to pets right now.
I have some mint, thyme, parsley, italian parsley, hot mint and rosemary. I also have some flowers. I'm considering buying a rat or a ferret. Something I can keep indoors, not too smelly or messy... |

Originally posted by Tarale Well then, you shouldn't be looking at ferrets then. Jesus lord almighty, they're rank. If you're looking for a small, furry, inside animal, try gerbils. They're rather easy to care for. Just watch out for their stomachs...I had two die of some kind of stomach cancer/ulcer, and it's not pretty. |

Originally posted by CESumOriginally posted by Tarale Ferrets don't stink if they're fixed. =X I suggest rats! Seriously, they're super intelligent and I had a few until I had to give them up to a friend for caretaking and then his house burnt down and they died. When my boyfriend and I get our own place (we're living with his parents now), we totally plan on getting another rat or two. But don't get just one if you don't plan on spending a lot of time with it. Rats are VERY social animals and can get super depressed if they're just left alone. As for me, I have the coolest pet of all, seriously. My cat owns. Anyone that remembers me SHOULD know about TRAGIC, the best cat EVAR. If they don't, oh god, I will take pictures when my camera comes in (Wednesday - Friday ish) and they will KNOW his cute seductive powers. |

Current pets:
Neko - Black Dwarf Persian -She's about a year and a half old and I got her from a good friend who knows how to breed dogs and cats. She can be very stubborn but she likes to go to sleep on my head or shoulders. Look at my avie and see! Nina - Tabbie -We adopted her and she sleeps all the time wherever she wants. Old pets: Mikey - Alligator Snapping Turtle -Almost ran him over when he was a tiny little baby. I took good care of him, fed him all sorts of fishes until he grew too big for the tank. I gave him away to a snake farm (it's a heaven to several different reptiles and wild animals) where he would have more space and better care. Archemedies and Nimbus - Parakeets -They made enough noise in the house to drive me insane but I liked watching them doddle from side to side, making funny (constipated) faces. My neighbor was supposed to take care of them over my break. I gave her the keys but she kept saying the door was jammed. They were dead when I got back home. All I have had are cats. Meow.
My oldest living cat, Batman, whom I've had since I was 3-4, hasn't been in the house for over a month. I know he's probably not dead, I've seen him a few times outside, prowling around. I guess he just decided to take his own path. Than there is Oreo. Not techniclly mine, it's my dads girlfriends cat, but it lives here too. He's small, and really jumpy and paranoid. Rough kittenhood. Still has soft fur, so it's not all so bad. Kind of likes to dig his claws into you when purring, unfortunately. =/ |

Originally posted by The Politician My cat does that too. Then again, my cat when purring can't seem to control his saliva and he...drools...oh my god...it's so gross. X_x But I loves him anyways. |
