Yes on the old board there was alot of talk about printing off the e-codes that didn't come to Canada/ U.S./ etc.
I've come to ask for asistance. How do you print off the codes so that they actually work on your e-reader. I found that different printers print the codes differently. Has anyone done it with a "lexmark 2200 series printer" P.S. PM me if you want the links for the dot code printer and dot codes. (edited by Andrew on 12-24-05 08:15 PM) |

You should print at least in a resolution of 600 DPI, else it wont work.
If your Printer supports that, beatifull, if not, forget it, not gonna happen. |

Go into your printer options on yor computer and crank all of your options up for high detail.
Then open up the printing program, and make sure that the default resolution for the selected printer is (at least) 600 dpi. Then select the 600 dpi options, your printer, the file to print, and away you go. You shouldn't need to adjust offsets, unless you want to get 2 codes on one side of a sheet of paper. Finally, be patient, it takes quite a few number of tries to get it to successfully scan in. If it says read error, just keep persisting, odds are it'll work eventually. |

Thanks!
I'll try this and pray that it works! EDIT: Everything goes good until the part about printing. 600 DPI is way to big and 300 DPI says error but even after 100 tries it still didn't work. (edited by Andrew on 12-10-05 09:38 AM) |

If 600 appears too big, then you need to mess with your printer settings, so that the program displays that printer as being able to do 600 dpi. Another big factor is the type of paper you print the dotcodes on. If you can afford it, use high quality photo paper. Chances are, the program is telling you that the printer is doing just 300 DPI. You have to specifically match the DPI output that the program gives to you. If after setting your printer to do all the best options you can still only print at 300 DPI for a correct size dotcode, then you need to get a new printer.
The unreleased levels are not the only things available now. As of about 2-3 days ago, the unreleased switches/power ups have been made available at http://www.caitsith2.com/ereader/sma4.htm. |

WHOA! I GOT 'EM TO WORK! I CAN SCAN IN THE LEVELS I WAS MISSING & PLAY THEM! (edit: and I've been trying ever since I had access to an E Reader (which was last year sometime. Turned out to be some weird printer settings I forgot to turn off).
Also, thanks to Caitsith for making the dotcodes available for download. Just one quick question though... what color switch corresponds to what effect? (edited by jmr on 12-12-05 08:57 PM) |

Blue-Green - Vegetable clumps in levels.
Orange - Fireball turns enemies into coins Red - Some enemies replaced with harder to deal with versions, like pirahna replaced with fire spitting pirahna, goombas with spinies, red koopas with buzzy beetles. Also, a 2X multiplier is in effect. Cyan - Power meter cut in half. Green - Slow down timer. Yellow - Luigi has low gravity Blue - All 1-up mushrooms replaced with 3-up moons. Enjoy the cards. |

Yeah, I was disappointed with the red switch as well. Oh well.
On a side note, I scanned in all 7 swittches into one of my save files, and now I can't scan in any demo or item cards. whenever I hit "R", it shows the item card selection greyed out, with all the switches beside it, but no selecter. It essentially freezes on that screen, as you can't do anything. |
