I'm getting fed up with Spyware that gets shoved intop 98% of computers, just the otherday I was looking through some list of torrents on a bit torrent site and all of a sudden P00f!! "Your computer may be infected with spyware"."Welcome to spysherif!" homepage was set to a weird search site, downlaoded toolbars, So I had no other choice but to format it , so i may not be on between 3-4pm today.

Heh, spysheriff. Spyware killer you have to buy, but its worse than most spyware you will find out there. My dad did the same thing, but instead of formatting he bought a new HD.

Again, my dad did that too. He installed SpySheriff on the new hd, then he actually let me fix it for him. I also told him to get AdAware and Spybot before Bearshare this time.

Not worth the time, I say wipe it out then prevent the problem from happening again.

Originally posted by Kario That's my situation. I had the same virus and McAfee couldn't scan it. I think it's w32.Bloodhound causing the problem. I had SpySheriff and it takes a long time to exit. Then the desktop resets to a crappy, "You have Spyware!" background. I tried formatting and my hd died. Luckily I have some backup files. I feel ya guys, it sucks. |

What were advertising companies thinking when they made spyware? If anything, it causes people to resent your product since the company associated with it screwed your computer.

Computers getting infected with spyware is becoming a natural cause actually... I've already had to re-format my computer like what? 3 or 4 times because of this? It just comes to show you that no PC is entirely "spyware safe" no matter what kind of protection you have on there.

Its true but lololol can prevent 90% of it

I don't have lololol on this computer... I don't even have ad-aware or any of the stuff I usually download onto friends' computers when I fix their adware problems...
I never get any spyware either. If you get spyware, it's your own damn fault. |

Not really... there are alot of sites that have it for no reason such has for example i was looking up old bikes (some of the first made 1920 era)i get redirected to it, if thats my fault then I dont know what the internets use is for if everytime you log on to something and end up with shit.

I have lololol on my PC and I do spyware checks every now and then on it. Most of the time, it says that there are no infections yet I can tell it's been running noticably slower than it did AFTER re-formatting it. I wonder why that is.
