If you want to format, then the XP Home installation can take care of that for you. If you put your XP Home CD in and the computer continues to boot up XP Pro anyways, then that means your computer's boot order is to look at the Hard Drive first. So, you must enter BIOS (via F2 or Delete typically) and change the boot order. One of the BIOS options usually says boot order and you want to set it to go to your CD-ROM before any of your hard drives.
If you change boot order and that doesn't work, then your WinXP Home CD is not bootable... At that point, you need to decide to reinstall WinXP Pro or find your Computer's recovery CDs if you bought a computer from a company like HP or Gateway for example. |
