Strictly for professional and legal use, kids.
I'm looking for something I can stick between the phone and the headset, so I can hook my voice recorder up. That way, I can interview people at my desk without having to put them on speakerphone (and since I don't have an office, per se, I'd have to move to the back room to do that). Anyone know where I could get a good one cheap, or how to build one? Saw a circuit on Engadget based off of the parts from an old modem, but if such a device is unavailable... |

You could just pick up a second phone and set the speaker next to the voice recorder.

Wouldn't work. We've got, I think, three or four lines, so it'd go to that instead.

Although that may not work, but what do know would work is to split the line between the base and the handset, so you can put a second handset on it. |

I don't know how to set up a recorder, but I know someone who does -- a journalist. Many journalists do phone-interviews with people that they can't meet face-to-face, it's a common practice to my knowledge. Find out where your local paper is made, drive down there and ask around, I'm sure they'll tell you how they manage to record phone conversations.

Or I could just ask a fellow reporter friend where he got his. I was hoping it would be something I could build, just as a learning experience.
