Okay, you win.
Now I wish I could watch it right now. But I don't have it with me here, noooo. Also in the beginning: "Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need." "It's quantity, not quality!" when Dawn and Brad are being questioned about their sex life, I still crack up. Another favorite: "God gave us oil! He gave it to us! How can God's gift be bad?" "I don't know. He gave you a brain too and you messed that up pretty damn good." But the best (less funny) are: "Everything is the same, even if it's different." "There's no such thing as nothing." |

Ugh you got me there on the "Everything is the same... even if it's different". Damnit, I can't believe I left that one out. That's one of the most memorable moments of the movie.
And I don't actually own it... which makes me want to cry tears .. (edited by Snow Trout on 02-21-06 08:13 PM) |

Another good movie is Garden State. A few lines I absolutely love:
"Sam: You gotta hear this one song, it'll change your life I swear." (...And that song DOES change your life.) "Sam: That's life. If nothing else, its life. It's real, and sometimes it fuckin' hurts, but it's sort of all we have." "Sam: If you can't laugh at yourself, life is going to seem a whole lot longer than you'd like." "Sam: I haven't even lied in like, two days. Andrew: Is that true? Sam: No..." And my favorite one "Andrew: Good luck exploring the infinite abyss! Albert: You too!" ...Well it's a lot cooler in the context of the movie. |

Do you know where these quotes are from?
"I see dead people." "You're gonna need a bigger boat." "Why did it have to be snakes?" "Help me! Help Me!" "Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads." "He slimed me." "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." "I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this." "Don't you see the rest of the country looks upon New York like we're left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers? I think of us that way sometimes and I live here." |

First: The Sixth Sense
Second: Jaws, maybe? Third: I recognize this one but I can´t place it. I recognize some more but I don´t remember what movies. "We´ll need bigger guns." That is SO cliché. |

I know the eighth one is One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I forgot which one the fourth and ninth ones are from, though.

The ninth one sounds like a Woody Allen movie, but I'm not sure. Any chance for a hint?

OMG DANI WATCHES THE BEST MOVIES EVER. Garden State is AMAZING.
"If you can't laugh at yourself, life's gonna seem a whole lot longer than you like. " "This is your one opportunity to do something that no one has ever done before and that no one will copy throughout human existence. And if nothing else, you will be remembered as the one guy who ever did this. This one thing. " (Those are both from Sam. And both wayy better in context.) And of course: "It's amazing how much of my life has been determined by a quarter inch piece of plastic." from Andrew. Oh, and when I get married I'm going to dance to the version of "Such Great Heights" that Iron and Wine does in that movie. It's amazing. Oh god.. and Monty Python and the Holy Grail people come on. "How can you tell he's a king?" "Well... he's the only one who's not covered in shit." Sir Lancelot: We were in the nick of time. You were in great peril. Sir Galahad: I don't think I was. Sir Lancelot: Yes, you were. You were in terrible peril. Sir Galahad: Look, let me go back in there and face the peril. Sir Lancelot: No, it's too perilous. Sir Galahad: Look, it's my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can. Sir Lancelot: No, we've got to find the Holy Grail. Come on. Sir Galahad: Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril? Sir Lancelot: No. It's unhealthy. Sir Galahad: I bet you're gay. Sir Lancelot: Am not. "Tis but a flesh wound"- The black night. "How do you know she's a witch?" "She turned me into a newt" [silence] "... I got better." My favorite quote from any monty python movie has to be from "life of brian" though.. "I think he said 'Blessed are the Cheesemakers'" "Aha.... what's so special about Cheesemakers?" "Well obviously it's not meant to be taken literally, it refers to any manufacturers of dairy products." Or actually it might be from the meaning of life... when the woman has the baby and it falls on the floor and she tells her daughter "...Oh shit... can you get that?" (edited by Snow Trout on 02-26-06 02:49 PM) |

Snow Tomato:
Yeah, Such Great Heights by Iron and Wine is simply amazing. I love it. I annoy people with it I love it so much. The original (I think?) version by The Postal Service is great too, a little faster but still fantastic. That movie is so meaningful. And Zach Braff rocks. I also like the scene when they're siting in the bathtub and he cries his first tear. That's when they're playing Iron and Wine, I believe. And the ellipses... And of course, the very end, it turns me into a sappy puddle. |

My favorite scene from any Monty Python film, easily
Though Life of Brian had some nice ones as well, like the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea. |
