This is a simple question. I'm pretty sure there's a FAQ running around here about how to use YY-CHR effectively. Can anyone link me to it?

There is no FAQ around at the moment that tells you how to "use YY-CHR effectively". To be honest, it's one of those things that a tutorial will do no good for. It's best that you experiment and find out for yourself how it works.

Oh, and one small tip. If you don't know what a button does, hover your mouse over it for a few seconds and it'll tell you.

Yeah, I know about that. It's just that... I can't remember how to look at graphics with YY-CHR. Everyhing I try ends up in a garbled mess. Do I open the ROM itself in YY-CHR, or extract graphics, and look at the .BIN's individually?

Also, which format do I use? SNES 4BPP?

I really know nothing about it, so any newbie hints and tips you can throw my way would also be nice.

Also, is YY-CHR the program to use when also wanting to edit some Overworld tiles? Cause I've been wanting to for a while now.

Actually, it'd probably be alot easier if I could just add you to some sort messenger ( Like MSN or Yahoo!. I don't have AIM ). Would that be possible? God only knows I'll have alot of dumb questions about this program.

Edit: I found out that selecting the .BIN files to edit was a good idea. I figured that to save, I simply hit "save" and over-write the .BIN I opened. The problem is, when I goto "Insert GFX to ROM" it asks for a hex number...?

How to edit graphics:

1) In Lunar Magic, look under Options. If "Use Joined GFX Files" isn't checked, click on it.
2) Click on the red mushroom button. (The one next to the castle button)
3) Open AllGFX.bin in YY-CHR
4) Edit and save
5) In Lunar Magic, click on the green mushroom button (next to the red one in step 2)

Thanks alot dude. Now, I have another question. It seems that when I edit a badguy sprite, like Koopa. It only effects one sprite of the animation. Any idea how I can go about editing the rest of the sprites of the animation?
