This looks really awesome, the graphics are the best and I like the turning animations, it adds something to the game.

Keep in mind this is my first time editing the overworld. Ever. :O It's a WIP. Comments? And yes it'll have features and such, and yes it IS square (Generic Plains) |

The floating blocks are a neat idea that I don't think I've seen someone use before. Other than that, the general flatness of it sorta turns me off... even if it is intentional.
PS: I really like the changed sprites. With everyone changing sprites these days, I really need to get on drawing some of my own. (edited by Juggling Joker on 02-08-06 10:48 PM) |

Good to see that this hack is still going along nicely. I presume it is going to be more than just graphical improvements and such, right? Oh, and about the overworld - even if you have an excuse for the squareness, at least put detail into the ground instead of using a generic green.

Heh. Levels shouldn't lie; that's not good of at all. If that yellow dot level to the right of the castle indeed connects to the one on the island, it needs to be a red dot...

If we wanted to play through generic plains there'd be tons of other hacks to choose from. If we wanted, well, originality, then the pickings would be considerably slimmer. Go with that instead of "Generic Plains".
And yeah, those ? block and brick sprites are cool. Pardon my ignorance for asking what should be obvious by now, but what *are* they edits of? |

Originally posted by Techokami Hehe, yeah, that looks something familiar. ^^ Some years ago I had the same idea about the lost levels, but I used only the one on this screen in SRP1, because this one is the "best" of the incompleted stuff I would say, all the others looked too boring or much too incompleted. All the new sprites on all the screens are looking awesome, but I think the new goomba is my favourite. Excellent work on that! And also much better than the usual SM Allstars replacements which seems to be overused much like the original SMW-Goombas. |

So if I clearly state that it isn't done, people are still going to bicker at basicness?
I'll say it again. The overworld is not done. I WILL be adding things! :/ Also, the hidden levels are supposed to be... well, hidden! If you don't know where it is, you have to be more observant. That and it's a bitch to replace the dot. EDIT: I changed things around, added stuff, etc. (edited by Techokami on 02-09-06 05:04 PM) |

Bump.
ZOMG NEW SCREEENS The current name of the hack =] In an effort to balance the power of the Yoshi, they all start out as baby Yoshis. Yay for a quick-n-dirty 5 second hack! So here are Remoga's fuzzy sprites. Oddly enough this sprite doesn't suck, and is indeed quite nice. Yes that is one of the original levels shown; I just wanted to do a quick visual test, since Fuzzies are edible by Yoshi now Oh, and I made a temporary ON/OFF block that has the international symbol of POWER BUTTON on it IT'SA LUIGI, IT'SA F***ING LUIGI Yeah he has his own sprites now. SMA2 rips (including the unused jumping animations!), woo! |

Oh...my...god...those sprites look freakin' awesome, man! Way to go! All you need is custom foreground graphics, and I would freakin' scream like a little girl. You seem to have lots of friends over MFGG...
You should see if you can get Oldskool Mario's Paper Mario styled graphics for Mario and Luigi. That would look so good. Anyway, that level design looks great, and the overall hack looks great. Any chances of a demo sometime? Keep up the good work, man. |

Of course I'll have custom FG/BGs
Also, I dunno if OSM would do an entire Mario and Luigi sheet, since his Paper Mario-styled sprites would: A) Not fit correctly B) Need a helluvalot more animations. I like Mario and Luigi as-is |
