Not bad. The overworld has a few errors, but looks quite impressive even with them. Your levels could use some work judging by the screenshots though. The puzzle hack idea is an interesting one, but fix all those nasty glitches. Downloading it now...

Uhm... Grave... robbing!? lol
Despite the graphics, it looks interesting for a newbie hack. I've yet to utilize the corner pipes in my hack so, good for you! You have a nice start! |

...for a second i though he managed to hack open DWTLC and make his own game out of it...
EDIT: Uhh.... is this hack even POSABLE!?!?!? level 1 is imposable Bowsers grave 1 is INTENSLY hard, but still beatable after about 10000 rewinds.... of course, you cant actually beat the level, as the exit tape is too close to a cliff. Dude... you... are... THE BEST 'HARD' MAKER EVER!! ...but don't take it as a good thing. its one thing to make hard levels, its another to make posable levels. Lookin good, it's always great to see a newcomer using some ExGFX. I mighttry out the demo later. But yeah, keep it up.

Tell me, kind sir, how do you dodge that without killing yourself? |

It's so complex..
[I'm sorry, but I'm not good at writing in English] First, bring a spring and put it on piranha plants. Then fall into spring immediately and let Banzai bill pass by. (avoid Banzai bill) Second, bring a P switch and fall into spring one more time (to avoid Banzai bill.) Then get a silver P switch and bring Banzai bill. When Banzai bill is situated at 2nd screenshot, press silver P. Then Banzai bill will be changed into a silver coin. Eat it, and you can dodge that. ps. Actually, when a blue P switch is operating, you should go left to bring a green koopa shell and get silver P at a time. (edited by specbrood on 02-02-06 06:38 AM) |

Looks good, but I see it caught a mutant strain of F***ed-up pallette syndrome, it took me a good two hours to fix mine, otherwise it looks challenging and unique.

So am I really the only one who thinks it looks way too hard and just poorly thrown-together without any regard for fun?

Originally posted by Alastor the Stylish Nah, it's probably just your being so used to normal hacks that this seems dull. Hard, yes. Fun and poorly thrown together? Hell, no! This hack is almost completely focused on puzzles, which are fun to figure out (you worried it wastes time that could be spent on the boards?). You just need to sit down, give it some time and use your brain (and reflexes/savestates) a little. Although ideally, he should use an infinite lives patch or something to make it a bit more fair. I don't like to do many tedious things over again when I die, and it would be piss-easy to rework these so that you don't die if you screw up the slightest thing. |
