I am trying to add the ExGFX I chose into my hack, but i keep getting an error whenever I click on the mushroom:
"The GFX in the ROM are still stored in 3bpp format. If you want to preserve them, you should extract the GFX before doing this and re-insert them afterwards so the program can store them as 4bpp as well. Unless you actually like looking at garbled graphics..." So I extracted the GFX, but when I tried to re-insert them, it gave me the same error. What do I do? |

Never encountered this one before. It's probably a bug in Lunar Magic. When you did the GFX insertation, did it say anything about the ExGFX being stored in 3bpp? If so, check if you have ExGFX (from Lunar Magic). If not, go ahead and insert the GFX as 4bpp anyhow. Just remember to back up your hack before trying anything. I tried inserting it anyhow, but it said I didn't have anything in my /ExGraphic directory, but I do have the files, all named correctly.

Ah, they have to be in your ExGFX directory, not your GFX directory (or wherever you have them). Be sure that you reinsert the GFX as 4bpp first. (edited by asdf on 01-17-06 10:13 PM) |

They are in the ExGFX directory, though... (edited by SecretGlitch on 01-18-06 03:38 PM) |

ExGFX is stored as:
/ExGraphics/ExGFX##.bin Where ## is a hexidecimal number greater than 7F And make sure it is in SNES 4bpp format and no larger than 4KB in size |

How do you save it in 4bpp format?

I already told you that. You simply have to extract the (Ex)GFX and re-insert them. If you kept the option to insert the graphics as 4bpp instead of 3bpp checked in the insert (Ex)GFX box, Lunar Magic will automatically do the conversion. The files themselves are 4bpp right from the start. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANY WARNING BOXES THAT COME UP, JUST REINSERT THE OTHER FILES (GFX or ExGFX) AND IT'LL BE FINE. Ok, I did that, but ALL my content became garbled! Everything looks like garbage!
(Good thing I made a back-up) |

Yes, it is supposed to look garbled. Just do the same for the other files, and they'll become ungarbled. If you did it with the ExGFX, insert the GFX again. If you did it with the GFX, insert the ExGFX again.
