| " A South Korean scientist who claimed to have cloned a dog and offered hopes of a cure for intractable illnesses has left his position at Seoul National University after he was exposed as a sham who faked the results of stem-cell research.
Announcing his resignation Hwang Woo-Suk, the country's most famous scientist and professor at the university, regarded as South Korea's best academic institution, apologised for causing "such big shocks and disappointment". Wow, what a boner. |

| I have personally known several people who died from hellish diseases that could have possibly been cured buy further research into this field of study. This guy is a frigging disgrace, and has hurt an already damaged field of study.
Retarded fundamentalists are simply going to run with this and totaly run stem cell research right off the planet. Polaticians are going to allow this because they like having they're jobs far more than DOING their jobs. and god damnit, im pissed. |

| This was a very random thread, but it was very interesting also. There have been many claims from scientist that they have finally "cloned " an animal. | |||

| I can't remember what the technique was called, but they claimed to clone an Afghan hound using it. I wonder what happened there... | |||

| The dog was indeed cloned.
Also, there is no argument against stem cell research present in this story. The South Korean scientist in question succesfully cloned 2 stem cells, but fabricated his results to look as though he had cloned 11. No claim as to the effectiveness of stem cell treatment was faked, so the "Retarded fundamentalists" won't have anything to run with anyway. |
