Anyone use Fusion for thier Genny needs? It's one of the most accurate Genesis Emulators out there, plus it even supports Sega Master System/Game Gear emulation -- And supports it well. The sound core is amazing -- the most accurate out there, in fact. Perfect for recordings, and an enhanced experience. And guess what? It supports scretched Special stage in Sonic 2, meaning it supports the alternate (smaller) screen mode the Genesis that can handle more sprites on screen at a time. And it's the only one that can!
But don't just take my word for it, try it yourself! |

I would try it if I install Direct X Version 7 or greater. I'll have to wait.

I prefer Gens Plus for some reason, they're both great though.

I still use GENS. I'll have to look at this one but I'm not a big buff on the games for this console.

I use Fushion frequently, but mostly to hack game gear and master system codes. I dont' like how Fushion always has to remain active no matter if it loses focus. They need to fix that. I'm pretty much a Gens man myself.

Fusion is much superior to Gens... All around. The emulation is simply more accurate, even though it's often hard to tell since Gens often *looks* perfect... I can tell as I've used both a lot. I've also been visting Mega Drive forums for a while, reporting bugs, and I've witnessed a number of games don't work right with Gens while they do with Kega (even if it's just minor stuff most of the time).
Also, Kega is obviously coded better, and it shows... The code of Gens is kind of dirty (Stef admitted it himself), and it shows in several areas... Personally, I can tell by simply launching the emulator, as it takes a while (not THAT long, no, especially since I got a much faster computer now), which isn't the case with Kega (which has nicely surprised me on many occasions, like when I had a weird gamepad, it was like the only emulator that'd support it right). But most people seem too used to Gens to let it go, as it came out long before... Also, Fusion doesn't have netplay... |

I've been using Fusion since it was called Kega Lazarus and let me just say it rocks. I used to use Gens all the time until I heard of an all-in-one Sega emulator. So I tried it and did exactly what Stifu did. I compared it in everywhere possible because I didn't think Sega emulation cold get any better.
But it seems it has and now that they've added code creatin software makes it even better. Just try it once. If you don't like it get rid of it. |

I've been using Kega since its first version, but it has really totally replaced Gens for me since "Fusion" is out...
On a side note, Kega Fusion 3.5 just got released. The last point of the change log caught my attention... "Preliminary Netplay support." (edited by Stifu on 01-02-06 09:25 AM) |

Yeah but were there any decent multiplayer games released for the genesis?

Originally posted by Koitenshin 3/4 player games: Mega Bomberman (even if not as good as the SNES ones), Yu Yu Hakusho (the fighting game), sport games if you like them... (I don't) 2 player games: Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Gunstar Heroes, even Sonic games if you want, etc... There's a fair load of little known ones too (like High School Soccer Kunio Kun, for example)... |

Yeah but I always have to do streets of rage with a friend nearby, it makes it easier because we'll both go for one side of the screen and the other would be able to understand. No voice cooperative multiplayer is damned stupid.

You could chat over the net while playing if you really wanted to, with a mic and some software (would probably affect netplay performances though)... Text chat is enough for me anyway. (edited by Stifu on 01-02-06 03:37 PM) |
