Finally, huh? Yep, it's here at last...and just in time for the New Year's (well, not really, but yeah....k) It includes 1-1 to 2-8, but NOT 1-Extra and 2-Extra (the extra levels will be done after thx) I doubt most of you will be able to unlock them anyways
Some new stuff includes: -Harder 1-4, 1-8, and 2-4 boss. -A MUCH harder and more suspenseful 2-8 boss. -The infamous double-saw (used in one level, but who cares?) -Stretchy ghosts (well, they were used in Golden Yoshi's hack, but they WEREN'T used in the original, so they fit here) -Wooden blocks on NORMAL lava (you'll see when you get there) -And all new levels (obviously ) I know most of you have been waiting for this for a long time, and it may be the last demo for a while, so scoop it up while you can. Get the demo HERE!! ...or the .RAR (UPDATED AGAIN) HERE!! If you want some screenies, they're in the General Project thread. Please post feedback, questions, if you need help getting a red coin or flower, etc. I want to know what you all think! And most of all, enjoy! It's a challenging hack *note - sorry about the big IPS. Hopefully I won't get busted for this EDIT: Hey, while I'm at it, could you guys give me your opinions on my upcoming level? Do you guys think skiing on surfaces other than snow is a cool idea, or should it 100% be on snow? Well...since I already played these levels through beta testing, all I can do is tell people to play this hack...so...

Can you not upload the IPS patch by itself. My hacks in my site are in a zip file. Upload it in a .rar file so I could get some space on my disk drive. | |||

Flatout. It sucks. The level design is sub par, and you could of linked some tiles better and not made them look like crap. I mean, YOU made this hunk of junk? I thought for sure someone like DAVALL made this...
Just kidding!!! I havn't tested it yet! Details later... EDIT:...Well. Oh boy. The level design is pretty good...But unfortunatly, there are glitches. Meh...These are 1-2...Not sure what went wrong...Also, there is an extra red coin in 1-2. So yea...Im on 1-3 now. Fix those glitches and your homefree! Ah, those pirhanas. I thought for sure after I tested them in the level I took them out thanks for pointing that out, else I never would have noticed
I admit, my first three or so levels are a bit...well..crap, compared to my later ones. Once you hit about 1-4 or 1-5, you'll notice a drastic improvement |

Just for everyone's info, I reuploaded my hack, with many more bug fixes. It's replaced over my old one. All the bugs posted in this thread have been fixed, and some more I found myself It's at the top, but if you're too lazy to scroll up, get the updated patch here It evens comes with a little bit of 3-1, if you guys want to try it |

Looking good! I'm booting up my emulator right now, I'll post my comments in a few minutes...
BUGS Screenshotless - The first text box in the intro is automatically closed after you get to the second page Screenshotless - Sprite problems may cause red coins not to show up When you reach this point in 1-2 and attempt to run down the slope, Yoshi will suddenly pause at the bottom. Likewise, the fake flower that is here will instantly destroy itself because of this. Through the wall! You usually lose Mario or get impaled (more often both than just one, though) after doing this. I'm barely playing it at the beginning of the game right now.
One question though. Is Yoshi suppose to stand in midair when you first begin the tutorial because that's what happened to me right now? EDIT: The bug from the last demo is still there in 1-4. When you re-enter the door in the picture, you'll fall to your doom. I'm going to call it a night but I have to say this hack is great even if there are some bugs like the door leading to your fall of doom. I especially like the element of surprise in 1-2 where you get ambushed by the fake flower right when the level starts. Or alternatively, enter this door to be taken to the land of no return.
This area the door leads to is just a flat plain. Even though it is off screen, there is no way to die. If you haven't beaten the level, you're screwed. More ways to get stuck in 1-4. If you waste the "!" switch and use either a POW or ? Item on the Tap-Tap, you get trapped with no way to die, as there are no pits. You'll have to reset or exit the level. Going back a level, if you shoot this arrow while you are on the platform, and do not jump after doing so, you are killed while the screen is scrolling around, following the launched egg. Hmm...ok, I'll address the problems one by one from top to bottom.
asdf: I know about that problem, and unfortunately, have absolutely no clue how to fix it asdf: Yeah, there are some cases like that in the demo. I think this weekend I'll sit down and completely fix them all. asdf: Ok, I fixed that one asdf: Other people were having the *go through the wall problem* I will have to change it around a bit there. fabio: Yep, I intended for Yoshi to be up a few squares in the intro. I can't start him on the red platform, else it'll go by itself. fabio: I seem to be having a lot of these doom problems And I didn't do something about it? Ok, I'll fix that one. asdf: Another doom door huh? I'd better really start testing my doors asdf: Well, unless you're the slowest man alive, you should be able to hit the ! switch and climb up he 4 blocks. But I guess you have a point - I'll make it so that you can exit the room and come back. asdf: Well, that's why I put a platform underneath, so you could jump on it THEN fire the egg. I don't know what I will do about this one do. I think I'll just move the line guide thing down. Thanks for these guys. You call?
If you enter the wrong pit in the door maze bonus of 2-1, this is what happens. You get pushed through the wall to the left, eventually falling into a pit. If you fall into the pit while on the purple guy...nothing hapens. Everything continues as normal, but you don't die. Unless you have beaten the level or baby Mario is in a bubble, you're screwed and have to restart. It's a little late for that. When you hit that roulette, the X-8 completed (key) starts playing. If you get a flower on the roulette like I did, the end of the tune overlaps with the "BONUS" fanfare. After having the above happen, if you win the bonus game, the key fanfare plays again. Odd. The first problem, it shouldn't do that. It doesn't when I play it. Odd....
The second problem, I don't even know how to fix. I might just take out the pits altogether. The text box shouldn't be there. And the last one, well, apparently it's caused because of the boss music in Tap-Taps room. I think I'll change it, but still make it good. Looks like you got to 2-1 without finding any glitches. I'm almost 100% positive the rest don't have any major ones, so hopefully you'll be able to get through them |

No major ones...
In certain locations in 2-2, catchers will start shaking uncontrollably. Here are two examples (in the latter screenshot, it happens when he picks up the egg) Baseball catchers can sometimes fall through bridges when they catch an egg. Walking forward...walking forward...WAIT WAIT OH MY GOD!!!! (it's a bug of sorts because it can be hard to jump up the steps without hitting the boo) Floating lava, anyone? Look at how it lines up with the spikes... This message isn't true. If you lost and have a watermelon in your inventory, you can still get it. If you have won, but got a fire melon, you can't get it. Vanishing sprites are rampant in this hack, and here's an extreme - the door vanishing in 2-6. I can't find a way out of 2-7, though... (edited by asdf on 12-30-05 06:16 PM) |

If you have a fire melon, yes you can. Shoot the fire up through the blocker.
Spikes have been fixed. No clue about the catchers. Moved the door so it doesn't vanish. As for 2-7, I give clues as to how to continue - look at how some of the ground has a multi-colored block in the middle of it, and coins leading into it. It acts like a pipe - push the down button on top of them, and you can enter. Lemme know how it works |
