Kids, don't leave an XM radio on the stove, lest your parents stick it in front of your monitor (in this case, a Radius PrecisionView 21). Just woke up to that, and I'm in need of some institutional-grade degaussing. Will using the monitor's own degaussing feature eventually get it back to normal? Will it eventually go away? Or am I going to need a degaussing coil or something?
EDIT: Never mind, I just waited a few minutes, hit it, and KICK WHAM BACK TO NORMAL. Regardless, don't leave radios or anything with magnets near your comp or monitor. (edited by drjayphd on 12-26-05 02:59 PM) |

For some reason, the monitor that came with our old 166mhz computer, started to changed colors. It became purple, green, yellow. But we didnīt have anything around that should cause that. It was long ago, though.
One of my friends on the dorm accidently did this to his TV and the picture shrank to a little 3'5" dot in the middle. I havenīt had any problems with my monitor, though. (edited by Ran-chan on 12-26-05 03:50 PM) |

A little 3-foot-5-inch dot? How big is this TV?
My old monitor (newer than this one, but aquired earlier) always randomly got little flickering lines in the picture. Never figured out why. Also, my grandpa has a TV that's somehow become messed up such that it only works right if there is a magnet on it. Loose monitor cables produce fun results too. |
