I can't think of any hard bosses off the top of my head.
Usually because if I have trouble with a boss, I'll keep doing it over and over again until I find an exploitable method.

For example, lots of people cite Omega, Shinryuu, and similar bosses from FF5 as being hard because of their insane defense, but their defense only works against weapons. All you have to do is use the Monk's unarmed combat ability, and you can bring them down in a couple turns.

But, the easiest is no contest.

Driscoll from Front Mission.

For anyone who's never played this SquareSoft classic, Front Mission is a strategy game, not unlike Final Fantasy tactics (but with mechs instead of wizards).

The final boss, Driscoll, has a whopping 999 hp, and only a short-range attack
And by the time you get to that point in the game, you'll have about 20 mechs in your party, each of which can be equipped with two shoulder-mounted rocket launchers and two mid-range weapons, capable of dealing over 100 damage per turn.

I'll quote this, since K and I were playing this via ZSNES and beat it in 24 hours with everything completed below level 40. It's really easier than it looks. If you do it right, you can take both of them down with two turns (at max, 3) given that you have a few job masteries down (particular to if you're a physical or magical buff) and some RunningShoes relics.

Get all that down...you kick ass with anything in that game. Quite honestly, that was the best FF game to play with 2 players.

I've come to realize that pretty much every RPG has a very difficult final boss.
I blame myself though because I hardly ever take the time to level up.

Someone has to explain to me in detail how to defeat those monsters. I´m at level 50-60 and Shinryuu wipes me out with one single attack. I don´t even get to attack him.

I´ve to try that sometime.

Level higher. Be a monk. You're winner.

Uh...we killed them at below level 40. There's no need to do just a monk...you can kill them at level 37 or so like K and I did.

I'm going the OLD translit names. We went bare. It was either the Mystic Knight/Ninja/Archer set (M Knight being optional) for 8x hit by 9999 damage max or the magic route which involved Red Mage and Quick/Bahamut trick of casting Bahamut 5x. Lenna and Cara got magic route, Butz and Faris got physical. Combine that with running shoes relcs, the best shit in the game for armor and weaponry (we went chicken sword route and ran from 255 battles, I kept track) and Thief mastered for extra speed.

Exdeath was a joke after those two. Easy win at level 40 and below...could've been faster than 24 hours but I was a whore and wanted Lenna to be uber when it meant nothing whatsoever.

I tried to defeat Ex-Death too but that damn last part of him wiped me out after some rounds of Meteos.

I guess I´ve to master some more jobs and get more running shoes. I think I have a few already.

Do you have the Mimic class?
If so, do you know the secret about the Mimic class?
If not, do you know the secret about the EquipAny class?

Both Mimic and EquipAny will automatically have any skills for the classes you've mastered.
So if you master Thief, you'll automatically get Agile (+speed)
If you master Black Mage, you'll automatically get MP+30%
For Mystic Knight, you'll get Barrier
For Knight you'll get Equip Armor (not that EquipAny needs it, but it can help for Mimic)
For Monk, you'll get HP+30%
For Samurai, you'll get Evade

Having all of those together will help your chances in any battle. After that it's just a question of whether you want to use X-Fight or Quick+Red x2

Yes, I have the Mimic class mastered but I don´t know if I´ve mastered the EquipAny class.

I usually use Both Hand, X-fight and something more to be able to do 10,000+ damage.

Uhm...Mimic really isn't that necessary since Bare > it when you have other jobs mastered.

Aside from the ones I already stated, getting Monk helps for the HP issue. Heck...even mastering Geomancer, which doesn't take much at all, gets you a lot of MP if you want it badly enough I noticed but...often times it's not worth the time.

I should get my save up of that. I think I still have it from the time K and I beat it online about six months ago.

I agree. Hell, he doesn't even put up a fight. If you even touch him, he dies.

The hardest for me...uhh...the only one I can remember right now that gave me problems was the final boss in Sonic CD. Or it might have been the boss of Wacky Workbench. But hell, back then, I didn't know how to defeat Sigma in Megaman X3 without using the beam sabre. Once I learned you have to hit him with charged X-Buster shots, I was able to put an end to him after less than a day of trying.

Easiest:
-Any Gradius final boss: Sits there, don't attack, dies after 3 seconds or so whenever you shoot it or not. Only Gradius 3's final boss fights back and even then... easy as pie.

Cackletta's Soul (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga): People says that she's hard... but I found her uber hard. Once you have avoided the initial assault and healed, the fight is basically won.

Safer Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7): Easiest RPG end boss ever (next to Mystic Quest's Dark King). Slow and can't do more than 3000 damage in one hit. Knights of the Round or not, you should be able to whip the easiest final boss of one of the easiest RPGs ever into submission without any problems.

Hardest:
-Lander (Guardian Legend): Pure, sheer evil. Fire tons of mines, fire a continuous stream of homing missiles, corner you on the sides and then smack you non-stop with it's hands on top of keeping on with shooting. If you don't have a fully-upgraded Z Canon, then forget it.

-Metroid Prime (Metroid Prime 1 & 2): Again, pure sheer evil. You can only blast that baddie into oblivion by taking it out with it's own power... and in both games, it is a master at draining your energy meter in 5 seconds ; in the first game, it WILL corner you in a corner and whip you into submission with it's tentacles while continuously spawned Fission Metroids will keep on distracting you. In the second game, she has a bigger and better gun than yours as well as a killer aim and homing bullets. Also, you don't get a spiffy Phazon Suit like in the first game which means that just getting the Phazon Beam (the only weapon that will blast that abomination to kingdom come) is a pain.

-Chaos (Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow): First form is not too bad... but unless you have your inventory full of potions, the second form will give a new meaning to the word "frustration". Basically, you have a boss with tons of HPs, four targets to destroy before getting to smack the boss itself, an annoying invincible helper (for the boss, of course, not you), and the boss will periodically spawn homing spheres that just won't let go on top of firing attacks in an awkward angle, forcing you to duck in the corner and be a sitting duck to the stupid homing spheres and the annoying invincible helper. Too bad really that Dawn of Sorrow's last boss doesn't really hold a candle to Chaos (although it is by no mean easy)...

-Paper Mario 2's final bosses: This one get a special mention. Three final bosses in a row, four battles in a row (the third final boss has two forms), only one opportunity to regenerate between the second and third battle... If this doesn't sound bad enough already... then know this: each boss inflict more than 12 points of damage every turn on your party. The very last boss is insane ; 21 damage per turn... and once it has low HP, it will increase it's stats and deal 30 damage per turn on top of getting a nice defense of 4. And they say that Bonetail is harder? Let me laugh. I hadn't seen a RPG final boss this hard in a long time, personally.
