The screenies I saw look sweet.
A bit off. If you want to see girl action, get the Great Giana Sisters on Commodore64. Great game with some difference to Mario (like no running, bouncing from stomp, but more powerups...) |

The only thing that was really good about *censored to prevent 4th come-uppance* was the music.
Maybe when Solar Soundtrack is released... |

Originally posted by Sgraff87Originally posted by CTF OK, I don't talk about it, but don't say it's crappy, because you don't like it. It's easily on the league of the early Mario games like SMB1 for NEs or SML1. |

Originally posted by CTFOriginally posted by Sgraff87Originally posted by CTF Which isnt saying much, as those games were never all that great to me. SMB was revolutionary in that it had huge, well animated (for its time) graphics and stages, with lots of color and (gasp!) music, but just because it was revolutionary or important doesnt mean it was fun. SML was even worse, the only reason it got any props was cause it was portable. If that game had been released on NES, even with graphics and sound to match, noone would ever have heard of it if it werent for the name "mario." Crappy is subjective, and its not your place to tell her what she can or cant deem "teh suk." Also, please read the thread before you post. This is called "Standard forum ettiquitte." The thread is six pages long, not sixty. Take a little extra time to go over the subject matter before you bring up GGS (or whatever) for the hojillionth time (this is not directed at anyone in particular.) Finally: Originally posted by Chris LeonhartOriginally posted by Sgraff87 Originally posted by Sgraff87 Dont you love it when you can make your point without saying a word? =D Besides, I dont think Ive ever played a stage that had more than a small portion of dedicated left scrolling...the likelyness that she'll have any significant amount of left scrolling that just happens to have a pirhana plant in it borders on nil. Anyway, I'd just like to add my voice to everyone elses and say this looks GREAT and Im really looking forward to playing it! Keep it up! You can do it! ^.^ (edited by SuperKawaiiNeko on 12-26-05 06:14 PM) |

Know what I'd like?
Spritesheets. Just because Maria looks very very good. Or at least a demo to rip it out of. |

Heh... I still don't like the idea of having females everywhere, I think it's kind of kiddy... I'm afraid some enemies will either look wrong or get old fast...
While making it so all males are females and vice versa isn't a bad idea, I think most of the original Mario enemies are NOT supposed to be males, they just don't have a sex... Like plants, bullets... But yeah, it's your hack, and I don't mean to tell you what to do or anything, just telling my opinion (because I kinda care about this project)... Some things you made I like, some other things I dislike. In spite of that, having a hack that features so many sprites that are both good and original will definitely be worth a look no matter what. |

Great News Everyone!
I will be releasing a one level demo as soon as I can. The bad news is that there is quite a bit of bugs and I have to finish Maria's sprites. And I don't know how long that will take. |

Originally posted by Sgraff87 I dont know about anybody else, but I know I speak for myself when I say "No rush." If it takes a little extra time to work the bugs out, then by all means, take the extra time to work the bugs out. But that's me, and I'll probably get stoned to death by everyone else cause this hack is popular enough with a lot of people screaming "Now now now!" for a demo XD In other news: Yay! |

Originally posted by Stifu Er, this is a Mario game, you know? What were you expecting? Originally posted by Stifu Wrong? So far they look very nice. And old? As opposed to all the unoriginal things that have been used in SMW so far? I think you're being far too harsh, this is both original and good looking. Some obvious effort is being placed here, original sprite graphics don't pop up here often enough.. If you want to talk about things looking wrong and getting old, look at all the rips people are using in their dull and lifeless hacks. (Which is in a huge abundance.) Originally posted by Stifu Supposed to, perhaps not. But it is a parody kinda thing, alternate universe, whatever. It's a hack man, can do whatever you want. And I think the idea of a plant-humanoid girl baddie is just fine, what is the problem with it? It's cute, and it is different. |

The sprite design is crazy good and the old school feel of these screen shots just gets me all giddy inside. I'm such a sucker for polished nostalgia.
Its a pleasure seeing you post new content and will definately be looking forward to any sort of update / release. |
