I'm sorry but...3x Heavy? You used a rate mod, didn't you? (cheater)
Otherwise, I doubt very seriously you kept up with 1800BPM. Call me the unbelieving...but it's named the Impossible Song for a reason. Grey: Then get some decent scores before you mouth off. |

Originally posted by Karadur Congrats on kicking our asses. A couple of the songs in that list really appeal to me -- mainly Legend of Zelda - Dance Mix Legend of Nintendo Super Mario World (Piano) Megaman Techo Remix You wouldn't happen to remember where you downloaded them from, do you? I've only really downloaded from flashflashrevolution.com and hadn't noticed them in their lists. Are you always interested in feedback, Rankatt? Well, incase you are: I didn't really find Stardust very enjoyable. No way near as good as Binary. I'm suprised by how many of your simfiles I have in my list and didn't even know of. Incase I'm wrong -- you're Hiryuu, right? Incredible job with almost every one of your sims! Keep it up! Oh! And quite a while ago, I think you mentioned something about an incredibly long mix of songs in one sim? I think you said something about this being your third one or something. Nonstop Megamix! That's the one! How's that coming along? |

Originally posted by Scatterheart Hoo boy. Lot to cover here. Lemme do it line by line or so... I'm surprised you like Binary and then said Stardust isn't as good. Maybe because it's not as long and drawn out. Eh, critics. Yea, I'm Hiryuu. That would be I. (shows I'm still fooling people with my name changes) Thanks. ^^ As for NSMM on DDR 4th...hoo boy. I think that's officially going to be new years resolution to get that done next year some time. It wouldn't be more hard than tedious...since I still need to get an idea of the BPMs I'm dealing with. I'll probably start work on it some time...though I said that months ago so don't hold your breath. The closest I have to tide you over is 2MB Megamix...and that's only 5 songs from various mixes...not 49 from DDR 4th like this behemoth is. By the by, any specific holiday requests for the season? I'm kinda dry on ideas...and I might skip it like last year (since it'll be late, no doubt). (edited by Rankatt on 12-24-05 07:26 AM) |

I apologise if all of my questions were intimidating.
Stardust isn't a bad job, it's just that it's alot more random (I guess you could put it) compared to Binary. In Binary, you could tell when something 'tricky' was coming up, but in Stardust, it seems that 'tricky' places were thrown in at random places. 'Trickiness' is a good thing in some was. I had to get used to bad timing in DDR5: Remix using ePSXe (emulation), but in that, you only have to get used to a slight time delay, but Stardust -- it's pretty damn hard to predict when a 'tricky' moment is coming up. You wouldn't happen to know where I can download this 2MB Megamix from, would you? It sounds pretty tempting. When I'm sober, and not busy, I'll link everyone to a couple of sims I really like from flashflashrevolution. Probably won't be untill Boxing Day ofcourse. As for ideas -- I have only one. If you've ever played Megaman 3, you no doubtedly have the title screen theme song imbedded into your head. There's a techno remix to that song that the administrator of Stifu's Board (named "Stifu") sent me quite a while back. He just gave me the link to the song again, and thought maybe you'd be interested. Right Here! |

People asking questions about what I do isn't intimidating at all. I don't mind at all...don't apologize for doing nothing wrong.
Stardust was made to build up intensity to certain parts. The two double step runs were apparent of that as they built up to runs of three or five that broke away from the usual beat and then hit you hard. The final end run is just a blast of energy. DD made his Oni to be more pad intended so it's more or less easier than that. Do a search on BMS for 2MB Megamix. That or just do a search for Hiryuu on BMS by username...you'll find all my stuff that way...well, most of it anyways. Megaman 3 Title Screen was my first sim I ever did. If I do decide to do it again, though, I'll consider that version of it. I probably heard it before if it's what I think it is. I was going towards more holiday-oriented suggestions though. |

Originally posted by Rankatt I thought as much. Well, I don't have much for suggestions, but there's one song that might catch your interest. A thread from Stifu's Board features a christmas light show which contains a pretty good song. It isn't much, but it's a cool take on X-mas. |

Well, you're in a small crowd...I only know of Ace and possibly DD doing that before you. >>
It's not like I haven't seen it before. |

Ace?
Who is Ace? Last night I had come to realize that my local arcade's DDR machine has gone to hell. For one, it's a bootleg and half the songs freeze! The bars are so dirty I forgot what color what they were. (Red?) The pad is horrible. The left arrow completely doesn't work on the 2P side and the down arrow on the 1P side is brocken (cracked) but it still works. There's a two-by-four under the bottom left side of the machine because a wheel is missing. The screen is so dirty and has stickers everywhere. The pad and all the metal surrounding it is surrounded with black gum marks or dirt. The sound is so low you cannot hear the song unless no one is there. But it's always running with four year olds. Screaming, playing hide-and-seek behind the machines, unplugging everything. And they always leave The sad thing, that's supposed to be the good machine. Yes, my arcade has two, and the other one is worse! |

Get a USB adaptor with it? That's killer SMing you COULD be doing.
Oh and I assume you got some obscure DDR mix on the PS2 or XBOX, yes? |

Ah, I went Super Jox Box route. Hey that means you can pad the shiz that DD and I make then.
Oh you're so gonna pad 2000 BPM and the Impossible Songs...I just know it. |

I still stick by the fact that the songs for it aren't as great as the ones in DDR, though.
The only reason I would get ITG anyways would be if I got to the point of doing exceptionally well in PSMO...ITG would practically be the next step up from that with stuff like Euphoria, VerTex, and Pandemonium. |

Not sure on mods.
All I know is the song steps are usually mined to insanity on Expert and it's usually harder than hell on a few of them. |

Okay, just played an hour of ITG. Keep in mind, these are my first impressions and are, of course, subject to change.
I don't have a watch on me or anything when I play, but it seems the songs are indeed longer on average than DDR's based on the number of them I played during the hour. It also seems that they're a bit harder on average as well (IE an ITG 8 is harder than a DDR 8), though I don't know if this is true, or if it's just a side effect of the songs being longer/my not being familiar with them. I also note that the songs as a whole seem to be more repetitive step-wise (In terms of larger patterns. Like a pattern you just stepped? Don't worry, it'll be back at least one more time!), moreso than DDR's. I also agree with Hiryuu in that the song selection doesn't seem to be as good as the DDR mixes I'm familiar with, but of course that comes down to taste I guess. Oh, it's somewhat buggy too. Seems it continues counting your combo from the previous song at times. This is fine except it's possible to get a peak combo for the song that's higher than the number of steps in it. Oops. In spite of that, it's DDR action, so how can I complain? And once I get better at ITG's 9-footers, I presume the fact that they're longer will help me with DDR. @ SWR: There's wave and "decel", which I'm presuming is the same as brake. No X0.25, though there are C mods. |
