| So far I have f-prot, cpu-z, aida32, and the windows media center theme (including the spiffy black one).
Does anyone know of any good process viewers/killers that would work from a thumb drive? I've been using Security Task Manager, but I've been getting pretty annoyed with it. Anything else that you think I'd need is good too. Any help is appreciated. |

| It's pretty good for a M$ program, but I like Security Task Manager because it has a database on what's good and what's bad and it will detect if something is a keylogger and such. Then it takes everything and gives it a rating on how bad it is and organizes it that way. It's a good program, but it costs money and that's why I'm annoyed with it. | |||

| Microsoft didn't make Process Explorer, they merely bought the company that did. | |||

What's the deal with Hijack This? Is it a similar idea or what? (I've never bothered to use it) |

| It's a very useful program that can help you diagnose spyware/malware problems and can delete items from the registry and whatnot. Doesn't *solve* the problem but you might need it to help get rid of something so yeah. Recommended. | |||

| I just had a thought, if you're trying to diagnose/repair Windows computers, you might try UBCD. Basically, you take your Windows XP installation files (you must have it at least SP1, SP2 is recommended), and it turns it into a LiveCD with tons of handy utilities. It can potentially be more effective than diagnosing on the problematic installation itself (since it'd be in a clean environment). |
