For some reason e.coli has been reported in spinach at a maximum lately and now its being reported in green onions.
I wonder whats up with that and what the heck are we doin about it? I think our government is ignoring its home turf.... |

e.coli, while it is deadly, is hardly a matter for national security. I remember a few outbreaks in the UK news. They are usually traceable back to a single source, where food hygene practices have been neglected. e.coli is very common in your excrement (ie, it lives in your colon = e.COLI), so it's probably a simple case of really awful food practices. You government probably has a bunch of laws that must be obeyed when it comes to food preparation, so how can it be their fault? (edited by Kasumi-Astra on 01-27-07 07:36 PM) |

It is rather minor.
It's like the flu going around your school/work area. Someone hasn't been washing their hands (/crop) and everyone gets to pay for it. It's nothing special. |

There is a ridiculously minor chance of getting e.coli in your food. People are being incredibly worked up over nothing. If you have a good immune system, you should be able to fight off the illness just fine. Sure, a couple people died, but they were both over 80 years old, meaning their immune system was likely pretty weak. I wish people wouldn't get so worked up over food scares.

3 taco bells had to close due to e.coli and I do not think any Olive Gardens are in New York City but anyway think of the other diseases too such as Avian Bird Flu and Mad Cow Disease y'think those are farmer faults I do not think so! Many Viri and bactirium types are being morphed by man pooled resources such as radiation and miscellanious other items.

Eh, E.Coli is isn't anything too serious. Though, the tainted green onions that plagued the East Coast Taco Bells did originate some 30 miles from my town :O

I'm willing to bet there would be a much bigger outcry if "E. coli" were replaced with "tainted fecal matter" in headlines. Same thing, basically.
So, who wants crap with their vegetables? Come on, it probably won't kill you! |
