That's a massive problem with the videogame industry. Some "journalists" that follow it, particularly from Gamespot, are peabrains and editorializers to an extreme degree. There is little consumer-based oversight beyond reviewing the games and occasionally dumping on something. For the most part the production aspects, and all of the really important pre-playing stuff, is ignored. There aren't any industry based publications for general public that I know of...at least not here in North America. Sure, some stuff gets put into EGM or whoever else, but for the most part the real business decisions have to be found in the back of a newspaper or a really constrained search. And when they do get reported in the open...well, idiots fuck it up. You really have no one to trust until a higher edge gaming mag comes out for intelligent patrons. | |||
