Alright, it's time for Bowl Picks!
Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st Tennessee vs. Penn State My pick: Tennessee - Penn State just hasn't had it when it counts this year. Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st Auburn vs. Nebraska My pick: Auburn Gator Bowl, Jan. 1st West Virginia vs. Georgia Tech My pick: Georgia Tech - I've been skeptical of WVU all year long. Capital One Bowl, Jan. 1st Arkansas vs. Wisconsin My pick: Wisconsin - I think a good Wisconsin team surprises Arkansas in a close one. Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st USC vs. Michigan My pick: Michigan - I think USC was exposed as an overrated team. Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st Boise State vs. Oklahoma My pick: Oklahoma - Boise State just can't compete on the same level as the big boys yet. Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd Louisville vs. Wake Forest My pick: Louisville - This should be a good game. Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd Notre Dame vs. LSU My pick: LSU - Notre Dame has choked in it's last 3 big games. BCS Championship, Jan. 8th Florida vs. Ohio State My pick: Ohio State - I think we have the best team in college football this year, and the only way we lose is if we beat ourselves. |

So...the bowl games don't count until Jan 1?
Here are some of the Bowl Games in 2007 Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st Tennessee vs. Penn State My pick: Penn State -- without Joe Pa, they have more motivation to win Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st Auburn vs. Nebraska My pick: Auburn -- Nebraska's had problems as of late Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st USC vs. Michigan My pick: Michigan - USC hasn't been consistent all season Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st Boise State vs. Oklahoma My pick: Oklahoma -- there is a reason why the WAC isn't a BCS conference Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd Louisville vs. Wake Forest My pick: Louisville - Wake Forest Cinderella Story ends here Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd Notre Dame vs. LSU My pick: LSU - what NSNick Said BCS Championship, Jan. 8th Florida vs. Ohio State My pick: Ohio State - same reasons as NSNick (edited by neotransotaku on 12-19-06 04:27 PM) |

Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st
Tennessee vs. Penn State -----My pick: Tennessee, yes, because Ainge to Meachem is nigh-unstoppable, and I don't trust Anthony Morelli at QB for Penn State. Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st Auburn vs. Nebraska -----My pick: Auburn is the better team by far, however, Zac Taylor's final game + Auburn's inconsistency makes my pick for the Cornhuskers. Gator Bowl, Jan. 1st West Virginia vs. Georgia Tech -----My pick: West Virginia should blow them out. White and Slaton should have a field day, despite a good run defense; I still think WVU is one of the best in the nation, and had one bad game against Louisville cost them a shot at the title. Plus, Reggie Ball is a turnover machine, and WVU's weak defense will thrive off of turnovers. Capital One Bowl, Jan. 1st Arkansas vs. Wisconsin -----My pick: Arkansas should beat them soundly, despite QB struggles with Casey Dick. Darren McFadden and Felix Jones should have a nice day. Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st USC vs. Michigan -----My pick: USC has been inconsistent, but this game puts the BCS fight to rest for another year as Michigan falls to the Trojans here. Should be a great game, though. Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st Boise State vs. Oklahoma -----My pick: Uh oh. Watch out for an upset here; Oklahoma's been great, even without Adrian Peterson and Rhett Bomar, but I can feel a bit of a surprise in the making here. Ian Johnson is good enough to maybe carry this team, and Zabranksy isn't a bad QB, either. Boise State in a shocker. Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd Louisville vs. Wake Forest -----My pick: Louisville - Louisville is my pick, they have superior talent at this point. Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd Notre Dame vs. LSU -----My pick: LSU in a blowout. ND shouldn't even be in this bowl, they don't have talent like LSU; the only way the Tigers lose is if they turn the football over a ton. BCS Championship, Jan. 8th Florida vs. Ohio State -----My pick: I would like an upset here, just for an interesting game, but I just don't see it. Ohio State has been great, and I don't know if Florida has enough to beat them, even if Troy Smith has only a so-so game. Buckeyes win it all by a sizable margin. |

Meineke Car Care Bowl, Dec. 30th
Boston College vs. Navy -> Boston College. The bowl streak will continue. Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st Tennessee vs. Penn State -> Penn State. What the hell, have a feel-good story here. Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st Auburn vs. Nebraska -> Might as well go with Auburn... safe choice. Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st USC vs. Michigan -> Michigan. I think they're going to want this one more than USC. Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st Boise State vs. Oklahoma -> Oklahoma but maybe Boise State can put together a respectable performance. Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd Louisville vs. Wake Forest -> Louisville. Wake Forest... I'm used to hearing that name more in basketball than football. Stick to one sport, guys... hell, look at Duke. Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd Notre Dame vs. LSU -> Notre Dame. Only because they're due to not choke one of these days. But they very well could, I'm just using the law of averages here. BCS Championship, Jan. 8th Florida vs. Ohio State -> Ohio State. I don't think Florida can put together a game that can take them out. |

Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st
Tennessee vs. Penn State Tennessee... obvious reasons... Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st Auburn vs. Nebraska Nebraska... even though I hate them, I think they pull this out after the debacle of a Big XII championship game. Gator Bowl, Jan. 1st West Virginia vs. Georgia Tech Georgia Tech, Big. Capital One Bowl, Jan. 1st Arkansas vs. Wisconsin Sorry, have to take Arkansas. Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st USC vs. Michigan I think USC wins, because Michigan will be more worried about how they should of been in the championship game rather then winning. Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st Boise State vs. Oklahoma Oklahoma, Big. Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd Louisville vs. Wake Forest I think Louisville will run away with it early and Wake won't have a chance to come back. Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd Notre Dame vs. LSU Notre Dame, because I'm catholic, and because I'd really don't know shit about either team. BCS Championship, Jan. 8th Florida vs. Ohio State Ohio State, Big. |

Why do I hear commentators say that Michigan is going to lose to USC?
Why? Losing is not on the Wolverine's menu. Only roses! |

Outback Bowl, Jan. 1st - Tennessee vs. Penn State
Penn State - What the hell, it'll be a good game and I don't really have good feelings for the SEC (though it's always one hell of a party when the Tennessee people come up for games). Cotton Bowl, Jan. 1st - Auburn vs. Nebraska Nebraska - SEC ain't gettin' no love from me. Gator Bowl, Jan. 1st - West Virginia vs. Georgia Tech West Virginia - I like their chances in this game, should be a really good game. Capital One Bowl, Jan. 1st - Arkansas vs. Wisconsin Wisconsin - Part of me feels the SEC just isn't that tough of a conference this season (and that's a large part of me) Rose Bowl, Jan. 1st - USC vs. Michigan Michigan - Michigan had one loss, and it was a close lost to Ohio State. USC lost to Oregon State and UCLA, no thank you. Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1st - Boise State vs. Oklahoma Boise State - Oklahoma could use Peterson in this game. Orange Bowl, Jan. 2nd - Louisville vs. Wake Forest Wake Forest - It could happen, probably won't, but it could. Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3rd - Notre Dame vs. LSU ND - I think we all saw that comming. And I think if we can get our offense going right then we'll beat them. BCS Championship, Jan. 8th - Florida vs. Ohio State Ohio State - Simply put, best team in the nation this year. Everyone's talking about if Ohio State will be able to keep up with Florida, I think it's more like will Florida be able to keep up with Ginn and Gonzales. Can't wait to see Urban Meyer get thoroughly trashed so he can take his whinning ass back to his nothing conference (wow, that was harsh, but more often than not the truth is). And on a pre-new years bowl thread, Cal beat A&M, that's always good to see. |

I have to really disagree with your characterization of the SEC conference this year. It was far and away the best, top to bottom, as far as I'm concerned. LSU is right up there with OSU in terms of talent and even they lost two games this year due to a bit of inconsistency at the wrong times. What conference do you perceive as being better?

I think the SEC is very close in talent. Their top tier teams aren't as good as some conferences, but their mid and bottom tier teams are much better than other conferences.
Overall, I think they're overhyped. |

There you have it, can't really put it much better. Just because the SECs good teams lost games does not mean everyone in the SEC is really good, it just means that the best teams are closer in ability to the middle and lower teams. Yeah, the Big 10 is lopsided, but you won't find two better teams in the nation outside of Ohio State and Michigan. Not USC, not Florida, not even ND (that hurts to say but it's the truth). And Alabama needs to stop firing coaches every three years when the senior class graduates, face it, you're not the dynasty you once were.

Wow, Pat White really is something. |
