I think this article speaks for itself
Highly scientific stuff. I particularly like the part about soy sauce being ok, because fermenting it changes the molecular structure. But tofu is bad. BAD!! |

Soy?
I knew it was a satanic food, but I didn't know it turned people into homosexuals... *Lakithunder plans to steal and bury all of Wal-Marts soy products* SATAN SHALL NOT PREVAIL!!!!! Note that I am in no way making fun of homosexuals. Just Satan. |

Living is also deadly, as it subjects your cells to having to divide, grow, die, and change; therefore to prevent accidents caused by living tissue, all people must die! This will clearly fix our problem!
The person who wrote this didn't know what they were talking about. There's some radioactive potassium in bananas, too; why didn't he mention those? Caffiene in coffee can screw you up. What about that? Chocolate can be addicting! Why not that either? This is a buncha chocolate bananas to me. |

I'm gonna have to go with, "it's a joke, it's all a joke" on this one. People these days...throw some "facts" at them and they'll be ready to believe anything.

I just find soy of all foods as a "devil food" to be highly amusing.
I would have thought a "devil food" would have been much more fun. Like chocolate. Liqueur chocolate. Liqueur coffee chocolate?? |

I don't like soy anyway. And it wouldn't explain my femine qualities since I don't really eat much that contains soy.

I do understand quite well if people are skeptical, since same stuff tends to get into tabloids in no time and in a overblown fashion too, despite limited medical proof.
However, even if this kind of stuff tends to get overblown, there's really no reason to reject it competly. There might be some truth to it. |

I don't think you can turn gay. It's just a natural trait some people are born with, right? This doesn't make sence.

Danielle is going to have a field day with this one when she is done reading...
But yeah... I tend to take "scientific" stuff like this with a grain of salt. Since nothing is set in stone... ever Edit: Whoops, forgot my quotes around "scientific" (edited by King Kattwah on 12-12-06 10:43 PM) |

What a fricking moron.
"Homosexuals often argue that their homosexuality is inborn because "I can't remember a time when I wasn't homosexual." No, homosexuality is always deviant." *Danielle throws rocks at the author Just another homophobe trying to prove being gay is "bad." |

Originally posted by Danielle Yes, pretty much. What is amusing is the "science" they are using to try to explain things. Which is why this is in Craziness. What about countries that have soy as a large part of their diet? Does this make them all gay? I'm also amused that soy sauce isn't bad. I suspect this is because the author likes soy sauce. |

In all fairness, soy does contain phytoestrogens and the article is not complete crock. (edited by Alastor on 12-12-06 10:55 PM) (edited by Alastor on 12-12-06 10:56 PM) |

But where's the evidence that phytoestrogens turn somebody gay?

Eh, as a matter of fact i'm one of thoose nutcases who thinks that the only real natural sexual orientation is bisexuality.
Take that as you want. I can understand if phytoestrogens have side effects, maybe even related to hormones and stuff... but saying that it turns people gay is probably stretching it. |
