But has anyone else seen this page before?
Procancer.org It doesn't seem like it's been around that long as it only has a single news post on it's front page. I found the link on another message board I go to. It's a page for an "Organization" putting themselves forward as Pro-Cancer (hence the name). Pro-Cancer, as in they're for the very idea of Cancer, and probably even spreading it around. To me, it seems an obvious (yet tasteless) joke. Maybe like they're trying too hard, I don't know. Anyone else got some thoughts on this? |

Disgusting really. Joke or not, that's bound to offend lots of people...why not say you're against disease prevention in general with this mindset? Why only cancer? It's disgusting ;\

This is either a sick joke, or a group of people that has no evidence to support their position. "All men and women should experience the restorative properties of Cancer at least once in their life." What are these "restorative properties," I'd like to know? "To inform the people (especially our youth) on the potential dangers of a Cancer-free society." What dangers? They certainly don't mention what these dangers are on their site.
Guess what comes up when you do a google search of the "founding members," Dr Jasraj Upadhyaya and Maxwell Buchanan IV? Nothing! These people don't even exist, or if they do, they are nowhere to be found on the Web. The whole thing looks like a scam to make you donate $5. Just for fun, I used my spam e-mail address to sign up for the mailing list. I'll let you know what happens. |

You're a braver soul than I, BooUrns. It's almost guaranteed they'll sell your email address, and my precious gmail account has never been tainted with spam (of course, saying this, my inbox will now become flooded)... though I've never bothered setting up an email address specifically for spam.
They're not very good scammers if they don't even actually take donations, tho. |

It looks to me like all these people's names are something someone randomly typed on the keyboard. Joke or not, they need to be maimed. Nobody should be pro-cancer for any reason anywhere. I am in a moral outrage.

Eh, I give them two points for originality and straight-faced presentation, but negative three for still not being that funny.
I'm not really that outraged though. It's just a stupid joke. |

This is equally as bogus as that old Pro-HIV website. In fact, it seems recycled.

Personally I am Pro-"name the disease"
Flame me all you want but this planet is getting overpopulated fast. Diseases, war what have you are a simple way of population control. |

I have a simple method for population control:
We start a world-wide organization for like-minded people who would want to take proactive steps to immediately reduce the world population. Then they can all come together at some kind of convention to where they can discuss methods of doing so. Then, while they're all together in one place, we kill them all. There's a large chunk of the population, right there. |

Well, what to say... this pretty much fails as a joke (simply because it does, not for arbitrary moralist reasons like "crossing the line" or "that is not something you joke about").
What adds to the site's failure is that they actually have some kind of a point, from a certain point of view, though it is likely enough they weren't even aware of that themselves. If it weren't for modern medicine, human population on earth never would have skyrocketed like it did and there wouldn't be all the consecutive problems. Not like I advocate that position... |

It appears to be yet another satire poking fun at people who believe in God.
On their About page: "Even if the listening individual is not a believer, we hope that they will spread the word to others who are potentially ready to hear the truth. Second, you can donate to the Organization. We promise that every dime, nickel, and penny will go towards a good cause." Can't say that I've ever seen a church that didn't say each of those things at some point in time. |
