Okay, so me and sam (Dracoon/Pvt. Prinny) are driving back to his house, after I picked him up from work at Dillons, and we're almost to his house when a possum jumps out in front of us and we hit it. We felt the bump and everything. 2 hours later we went back by the spot were we hit it, mainly because I wanted to see it . Anyway, it wasn't there, no blood spot on the pavement or anything! Being greatly confused, we go get something to eat and head back to his house. After arriving there, I checked under the front of my car for fur/blood and there was nothing! So this makes me believe that possums don't exist...Anyways, what are your thoughts, and for the record, neither of us were high/drunk or a combination of the two...

Maybe you broke its neck/spine and didn't spill any blood. Someone might have then cleared it off the road or a predator dragged it off in that 2 hours. Only thing I can think about really...

Sometimes, they just get catapulted off the road so quickly that they don't leave anything behind.

...Bastard forgot to log off...
Yeah, I saw a black mass after we passed it and I swore it was like a sewer or something when we hit it, but there isn't a sewer there. Legault probably drove by it this morning to check if it was there or not. |

I would not be surprised if the possum is hiding and waiting for the perfect time to kill you.
Also, your experience sounds like it came from a horror movie. The possum is probably inside the car already. |

Originally posted by Yoronosuku That's probably right. Somebody probably saw it, cleaned it up, maybe gave it a "proper burial", then washed off the road. This is especially the case in a suburban neighbourhood. Maybe a street cleaner was called. |

Might have been cleared off... or it actually SURVIVED the hit.
Granted, the odds of that are slim, but it's possible. Might have even been an undead possum that you hit. |

I so called it!
Every night, the disgruntled possums of the dead rise from their graves... er... roads... and attempt to kill, destroy, maim, and hang upside-down from trees! They also try to crash cars like those squirrels from that Geico commercial. |

Originally posted by Colin I dunno, I just had a really nice laugh about it, especially since Nick thought he hit someone's pet so he drove off and around the block to try and hide. Hahaha. I am curious as to what it was though, to not leave a blood spot or anything, yet it was moving... Maybe it was an armidillo and it's hardness protected itself. |
