Oye the evil ibj. Ive never been able to do it in all these years and I still can't *sigh*
EDIT: maybe someone can help me understand what im doing wrong. Here is a video I made of my horrendous attempts at ibj. I know I get the first part right. Where you bomb then bomb again just beffore the first explodes. After that... http://www.filefactory.com/file/375914/ (edited by Dko on 10-05-06 10:37 PM) |

Oh, I forgot something very important I need to tell you. The Morph Ball seems to be malfunctioning. I can get into open air, where I can un-morph, but sometimes, it kinda locks me in Morph Ball mode. No amount of pressing up will fix it, and even as I type this, I have this problem while exploring Ridley's Lair. It'll suddenly go away, but... I think you should look into this. The Morph Ball isn't supposed to trap you in Ball form in places you can un-morph. It's making me panic right now, as I know that Ridley's Lair should be hard. So... Any tips on how to escape this "bug"? Here's what I've tried to be able to un-morph:
-Bomb-Jumping -Entering another room -Laying a Power Bomb -Getting hit by enemies (accident, but it could work...) -Going through a Morph Ball tunnel (the only thing that works?!) On a side note, the last two, I just tried. I entered the nearest door, and for some odd reason, the door glitched. Parts of it went away mysteriously... Hmmm... Help? Edit: I found the answer- Go through a Morph Ball tunnel. I keep forgetting that... Yeah, sometimes, when going through said tunnels, your Morph Ball will "lock", causing you to stay in Morph Ball mode until going through another tunnel. Can you look into this? It can cause mass destruction of your energy, seeing as you only have two Weapons in Morph Ball mode. (edited by pikaguy900 on 10-06-06 04:57 PM) |

It's not a bug, it's intentional. There is a spot near the Crocomire where jumping around in ball mode may make you miss the block that indicates that you can press up/down again, but going back through the tunnel will fix it.
It's meant to keep you from standing up in places that are designed for the ball. |

Really? I had no idea there were blocks that told the game when you could and couldn't un-morph. I figured that you could only un-morph when there wasn't a solid block above your head... Oh well. Thanks!

pika, it depends where you are having trouble unmorphing, if it is NOT in an obvious morphball maze then you need to send me a screenshot ASAP
however, for mazes yeah, I had kejardon create 2 new locks which disable up and down and jump. also you might want to not springball on exits, since you'll miss the demorphing tile. |

Okay, that explains why I can't un-morph sometimes. And here's the weird thing: After I got the High-Jump Boots, I rarely used the Spring Ball ability because I kept forgetting that I had it.
Edit: Got rid of that last part to get rid of what seems to be a spoiler. I'll just stop posting here for help. It makes it easy on me. And better for others. (edited by pikaguy900 on 10-07-06 08:58 AM) |

Pika: stop ranting on very pointless game details as having trouble to beat a damn enemy is probably you sucking =P watch how simply I respond to Dko's plea
Dko: Ibj timming is meant to be difficult, I made the timming so it is similar to laddered bomb jumping in prime. Spoiler: lay a bomb, and just before it esploads lay another, at the peak of the jump wait for samus to fall around 1 full morphball height then lay a bomb at every peak from then on, that is MOMENT you stop in the air from going up, and begin t fall, lay a bomb |

Originally posted by enigmaMan Right. You get Varia later. But not much later. You're only in Norfair for one item right now, so get it and go. Also, be sure to bring 3 Energy Tanks, or you won't get through. |

You say that as though its simplistic to get through with those three.

Originally posted by Griff Morivan I did. I went in with 3, and got out with the same amount. It may have been hard, but I did it. |

Originally posted by enigmaMan You were supposed to have the Varia before you got Power Bombs. Either way, look in the shaft near the Norfair Elevator in Brinstar. It's easy to climb up with Power Bombs, but all you really need is Ice Beam. If you want to know the exact route, here it is: Spoiler: In the tall shaft in Brinstar with the bugs flying out of the sideways pipes and the Rippers/Gliders, plus a door leading to a Recharge Room, freeze the first Ripper/Glider and jump on it. Look at the pipe on the right. Freeze the second Ripper/Glider when it's at the pipe and jump onto it. Roll into the pipe (if you froze the Ripper too soon, you'll need to plant a bomb and go to the right a little without falling off so the bomb pushes you diagonally up-right) and plant bombs to destroy the blocks. You reach a door. Enter for Varia. |

I know the technique. At least I think I do. I just can't get it right for some reason.
EDIT: I think im starting to get the timing down. But still its going to be a long time beffore I get it right. (edited by Dko on 10-07-06 02:50 PM) |
