Oh dear god, this game is quite amazing. Quite possibly one of the best megaman games to date. Quite possibly one of the most indepth games to date.
First off, the game is very much unlike any of the other Megaman games in the fact that it pulls a super metroid/Castlevania on you. The whole world is actually one big, connecting level. There are no stages, but rather missions you go on to retrieve the Biometal pieces from bosses (as well as sidequest missions too). The game is refreshingly hard. I say that because instead of making you go crazy in the levels to get an S Rank, just dashing through and opening fire... they did away with the ranks entirely. Its more of the traditional "dodge whatever the hell you can or you won't survive." tactic. Although bosses have an area on them, where if you hit it, it weakens the biometal you get from them. Adds an extra challenge if you don't want to waste your time repairing them with E-crystals. The boss weapons are handled in a much different style than in most games. the weapons you get are armors based off the four guardians from the MMZ series. They have their own weapons and abilities (model Hx gives you Air-dash and hovering capabilities, Lx allows you to freely swim in water, You can destroy certain blocks with Fx, and you can stick to ceilings with Px) and they also utilize the touch screen in certain ways. My personal favorite has to be Fx's touch screen, where you can edit the path your buster shots take. Story wise, it has a very indepth plot, strongly connected to the Zero series (obviously), which is a nice touch for a change. No more crazy debates about time gaps. the bosses actually have their own unique names this time instead of following (word) (animal). I could go on and on about this game, but if you have a DS, and you like megaman, get this game, because you probbly won't regret it. (be sure you play it with Zero 3 or 4 in the GBA slot, too ) |

I've got it! And it's making me wish I had bought MMZ 3 and 4.
I really like how they did away with the ranking thing. I feel like it lets me be more stylish than be blatantly reckless. I'm still amazed at how many times I've timed a dash or jump at the right time just to avoid a hit. Dangit, I really wish I had MMZ 3 or 4... |

I have been curious about this game but since I heard about it I´ve thought that it was yet another game that looked like the others. I read about it in a game magazine and it sounds really interesting.
However, I´m afraid that I won´t enjoy it much when I buy it. It feels like this with most games if it isn´t a game series I´m already familiar of. Also, I don´t like you use the stylus too much. |

Eh? What? The only time I've used the stylus in this thing is just to edit the trajectory of Fx model.
... Man.. I seriously can't believe I got my arse handed to me by the freak in room N-1. I feel so weak now |

Yeah, this game is pretty amazing. My only gripe is the washed up map system, no key, and its just not very detailed at all. A much more in depth map system like Metroid or Castlevania would've been pretty amazing.
Either way its still great, and I myself have found quite a bit of challenge in the game. Not necessarily through the levels, but the bosses are pretty tough so far (playing on Normal). Even though I consider myself to be a diehard Megaman / Megaman X fan, I have honestly not played any of the Zero games, but I've heard plenty of good things about them. Hearing that this game ties in closely to them, I've been pretty interested in going back and trying to find some of the Zero games (guess I *could* emulate ...). But yeah, those in fear of the touch screen ... its not used that much, at all. Basically close to never. And visually, this game is up there with extremely detailed sprites and stuff. |

I got this the day it came out, I have to agree with those comments before mine... Probably the best Megaman game I've played.
I actually was inspired to buy Megaman Zero 4 after playing it- I had never bought any of the MMZ titles before this... |

You're better off emulating the MMZ games, I can NEVER find them used.
They're just that good that no-one sells sthem back used. |

I actually saw MMZ 3 and 4 a few days ago actually, both $20 each I think ...
I'm guessing they'd be worth picking up pretty quickly here. |

Getting a prize for it after beating the game means nothing to me, unless there's going to be another game that lets me take advantage of it.. or something. And I feel like such a sucker, too.. After I finally got over the initial shock of fighting the dude, I went back to my old "moving out of the way by the skin of my teeth" thing I've been doing for the whole game, and I didn't have to use another subtank. |

Originally posted by Valcion Haha, when I realized I had to go back through the spikes, I whimpered. I had a gut feeling I was gonna die, so I tried to be very careful. However, whenever I'm very careful in a game, my hands will tend to cramp up or something runs through my head that eliminates a step in survival, which, in my case, involved me forgetting I could dash upwards with the Hx model. I was very fortunate to have two more lives left, so I was like "screw this, I'm outta here". And I pretty much dash jumped through everything rather recklessly. ...And for some reason, I wanna fight Omega again. He felt like such a good challenge. edit: *flails arms* I just got the Extender Chip AND the Quick Charge chip. Those freakin' things would've helped me tremendously! Can you combine / change around Models at some part in the game? I could have sworn you could at some point.
I've just got one more mission to do (at least from what I know), area K. |

I think you're just getting confused with the fact that all of the models in the game are in fact combinations of the biometals with Model X. ZX, PX, HX, FX, LX, OX. No ZP or ZO or LH.
I still haven't gotten the game yet, haven't had the chance. That, and my DS is a good 300 miles away right now... It looks quite awesome, and I enjoyed the Zero games immensely. |

I love you DesMuME 0.3.5wip1
It works almost perfectly, but really really slow (about 20 fps). I'm currently almost finishing the game, at area O-1 (Highway 2). |

I was about to say how can you be willing to deal with that speed... when I realized.... You're cheating! You don't have to worry about getting hurt as much as you got more time to think! | |||

I think the sluggishness of the controls would balance out the speed decrease, actually.
I tried emulating the Japanese version, but it always froze right before you fight the first boss. I was using the same emulator as Cirvante, too. No matter. I should be getting the real US one soon enough. |
