I was pixelling at work, and I decided I wanted to make a little animated fighting guy. So, I asked my housemate if he was a little animated fighting guy in a computer game, what weapons would he use. He said he wanted "double cimitars" so I made this for him:

It's based to some extent off a King of Fighters sprite, which helped me actually learn a whole lot about working on that particular scale better, so that's good

I'm not sure if my scimitars are real curvy... sometimes they look ok, sometimes not. And I've since noticed there's all different kinds of scimitars, big broad ones and little skinny ones and I dunno which type he was talking about...

But overall, I think it looks okay. Not too bad considering I don't often animate things. It's just an idle animation, but I have trouble wtih even that much... If you actually wanted me to animate him to have him DO something with the scimitars uh... my brain will probably explode.

Thinking back to Tsugumo's tutorials, I think the blades move around too much for such a small sprite.

Could've gone for a double scimitar... aka Klingon Bat'leth.

Except I'm totally fucking hyped about Dracula X: Chronicles.

until it was animated, I was unsure what he was holding, easpecially in his right hand (I thought it was a belt or some sort at first x.x) I notice his legs aren't moving at all, but he's bobbing up and down, it's quite hard to do that :o, His shoulder's don't move at all either, he seems quite stiff for being animated. Sprites are people too, and they should move like them D:

You have quite abit of colors, I'd say at least 50 that go un-noticed, that's only going to make it tougher on you while animating and deciding which color goes where, you also might want to cast part of the far side of his face into shadow (similar to the pants) and darken his left arm abit for that feeling of unity.

I've really got to learn not to look into this stuff so much

That's what I thought, too... but now looking at it it does look pretty stiff elsewhere, too

I could see him fight in a Sega game... Nice.
Only thing that bothers me is those scimitars, I dont see any handles.
