Looky looky!

So, how does it look?

Suggestions, comments, anything?

Oh, and any Japanese-speakers, did I get the kana right?

It looks good. I like the font and the Japenese characters. What are you going to use it for?

...very basic. Simple blending options were used, but nothing was done horribly.

Nice. Could have used more flair, but as is, it works as a basic design.

Good job with it.

I made a bubble in photoshop once. Then I tried to change the colour and ruined it. That made me sad

Oh right. Nice job with it. I don't speak Japanese, so I can't help you with that. I still think it's rather nice though, not OMG AWESOME, but pleasing to look at.

five days?

That's all I really have to say.
You could've at least reduced the colors abit so viewers don't have to sit there and wait for it to download.

Technically, no. It's for the site.

And about the board... it's still not open, I need to straighten some things out.

I would also like to clarify that the banner didn't take me five days, just about an hour. The rest of that time was spent creating the site images and writing part of the code. Still not ready, though...

GIF version.

I can't say I can find anything wrong with it. You even shaded the little bars in accordance to the sun. The dark band in the middle section seems inconsistant with the lighter band on the right side, but it's really a minor thing. It took me a while of trying to find something to comment on that wasn't just "good job"... so it's really fine as it is.

Since I just happen to study Japanese I'll point out some stuff with the kana (of course, it's up to oneself how you want to write names with kana in many cases, but still). First off, Paradisus. It's somewhat important to note that kana isn't really consistent (for k it's ka,ki,ku,ke,ko but for t it's ta,chi, tsu,te,to), this means that while ta た becomes da だ, chi ち becomes ぢ, which really isn't pronounced like di.. it's more like.. dzji or something. Since you're using katakana anyway you can use the rather common way of making the proper d-sound by using ディ, that is a de for the proper sound, and a _small_ i to indicate it's not de, but di. Also, I'd end it with another su as in Paradisusu, it just generally sounds better to end s-words with su. As for gaming, first of all you wouldn't write a small イ if you want to make the e-sound longer (and you do, considering it's geemu for game etc) you would write a normal size one. Second, you're using katakana (which is obvious since it's English), and that means you don't use other letters to make sounds longer, you use ー (like ゲーム. That's all.

As for the banner itself, I've never been much for the flare things (although the gradient caused by it is pretty nice). It looks ok, but the katakana disturb me .
