I killed naval Pirannah in under 3 seconds. Kamek got pissed off.
Just stood on the very VERY edge of the bridge, aimed, and fired. Nailed him before the battle could start. One hit KO. |

Nintendo could have fixed the whole kill Naval in one hit thing by making the event trigger as soon as you enter the big room, that way the stone wall would go up behind you. Technically, that would make the battle start with you in the water

As it is, it's an easter egg and very obviously NOT a glitch. When did those become bad things?
Especially since very few people accidentally did it, what with the no-eggs-in-water thing and the fact that there's what, one log on the platform you could stand on? (Of course, the first time I fought it, I killed it after it transformed by hopping and hovering out of the water, quickly firing eggs off while in the air. Not quite the most efficient way I could do it...) |

Well, I'm on 5-1 now, and I have to say, beating Hookbill the Koopa was pretty easy once you figured it out (Throw eggs in his face to get him on his back and ground pound him.)

Stupid nostalgia. Now I want to play Yoshi's Island again. *changes channel to 3, powers on SNES* It makes me happy that we have the original game.
There's a level in world 5 that you'll appreciate... Well, a small part of it, anyway. The rest is hell. Happy dying! I personally find the SNES version easier, since you can be rougher to the controller, and the fact that it has more buttons. Originally posted by Skreename What if it's a glitched easter egg? |

Now I remember what level gave me pure hell. 5-4, with the moving green platform head thingy. I sucked at that at first, it gave me so much trouble.
Also, 6-5. 6-5 has to be one of the hardest, The Very Loooooooooong Cave. |

Although the cave was unforgiving, I didn't find it as hard as Poochy ain't Stupid. That level + my Poochy manuevering skills = dead. You know, I never actually managed to get 100 points in every level. It was always 1 or 2 levels in each world that would be at 99 or 98 points. I only got worlds 1 and 2 complete. |

Yeah, I could care less about a perfect score. I'd rather just beat the game.

But at least you get something for getting perfect scores unlike in some other games.

Oddly enough, I beat the SNES version within 3 days when I was like 12 years old but never managed to get through the GBA version 5 years later.
And yes, Poochy Ain't Stupid = AAAARGH |

On the SNES I managed perfect scores but I've tried the GBA version recently...
Poochy Ain't Stupid is owning me so much that it isn't even funny. |

At least you managed it on the SNES. I've only done it on SNES, and I think I got 50 points. I died numerous times, though. The way I'd die is usually from impatience, usually by letting Poochy go so far off that he runs offscreen. I'm quite stubborn when it comes to things like this, so I slightly tweak The sad thing is, that, even though I had 5 lives, I got a Game Over from that. I'm gonna try Poochy Ain't Stupid again... I still have a save file with that level unlocked. (edited by Doritokiller on 08-23-06 11:50 PM) |

I beat it on my 3rd try, and got a perfect score on my 7th or something (edited by S.N.N. on 08-24-06 09:51 AM) |

The bats are easy to dodge. All you do is eat of them to get them out of the way.
The part that got me the most was near the end with the spike ball. When I try aiming at the red coins, Poochy then runs towards the ball when I'm still aiming and I'll hit it and more likely fall him the dog and fall in the lava. |

The level's not that hard when you get through it but you're gonna die several times trying to beat the level, then several more times to get 100 points. It should have been the bonus level in another world, not... erm... World 1.

I got 100 points when I first beat that level. The game gives you more than enough opportunities to earn 30 stars and even if you don't have 30 stars by the end of the level, you can just use an item to get stars. The red coins and flowers weren't that hard to find either.

Actually, throughout that level, I just repeatedly hit left + right to keep Poochy in one spot, then stopped and fired eggs when needed. But I always got hit by the enemies - believe it or not, a '?' cloud item saved my life the first time I did it

Grrr... I'm having trouble with a jump in 5-2, just after a jumping Tap-Tap. |
