Yeah, I've been pretty god damned sick the past week or so. It is a symptom of stress from working 12-13 hour shifts 5 days a week while also doing a full load of work on my days off. It's also causing one other big problem. My appetite is completely shot and when I do work one up most of the food comes up. My usual weight of ~100kgs is shot, I've probably lost a good 5 kilos since getting sick. Which isn't good, because when I lose weight so fast I don't believe anything good can come of it. I've been taking a full vitamin load and getting the appropriate exercise.
Seriously though, what the fuck. |

Can't you limit your working hours a bit? I mean, I know that you need the money, but... not at the expense of your health. =\

Well, even cutting it to typical full time work, ~40 a week... that would give you a lot more time to chillax, and I bet you'd be back to normal. And whatever it is you're doing outside of work that's exhausting you, take a little break from it.

My supervisor isn't letting me work 12 hour shifts anymore. Says I need the rest. I quit on Wednesday anyways, but I need the damned work.

I thought you were in school.... why work so much?
Anyways, I have been doing something like that for 3 months now (65 hours a week or so) and yeah it had started to wear on me a bit. Luckily I've been moved around a bit lately and am now working closer to 50 hours. I'm on a salary so no overtime . (edited by MathOnNapkins on 08-23-06 04:37 AM) |

Yeah...Things got worse. I've got some sort of nasty respiratory infection right now. When I start coughing it really, really hurts. All my muscles are sore and I can't hold down anything more exotic than toasted rye bread with some olive oil on it.
I had to call in today...again. edit:: MoN right now I'm quasi-in-school. I'm taking a correspondence Esperanto class for non-credit fun. It eats some time but it is worth it. I also am dealing with the school's massive bureaucracy constantly because I'm now on some list. (edited by Plus Sign Abomination on 08-23-06 12:37 PM) |
