I don't wanna sound insecure but there ARE several weirdos around my area, half of them ARE armed. Just in case the cops are too slow and the situation worsens, I have a 1911 colt under my top bed cushion (I can pull that out and switch the safety off in less than 3 seconds). There are less conventional alternatives too...
I have a collection of large knives and machetes there too (for very dire situations). If I were to simply spook the burglar into getting out, I'd sneak in the darkest spots and trip the guy with a baseball bat (one hanging by my bed). If I knew for sure the guy wasn't armed and he's about average size, I'd grab my large machete and lurch toward him just for a scare. I'd grab the crook and slam him on the couch and smack him with the side of the cold machete asking for my stuff back. |

Well, let's see. First, I'm atop a bunk bed, so I could probably leap off from the top of it and land on him, probably causing some damage. Then I would pick up my massive midi piano and beat him over the head with it. Failing that, the Atari Mega STE ways a ton, and again, would make for a deadly bludgeoning object.
And if that wasn't good enough, I could pick up my lamp bases (which weigh in excess of 30 pounds) and smash him into the ground with their sheer weight. Not to mention the whole time I could hurl books, attack with curtain rods, smash him with a huge botle full of heavy coins, hit him with screwdrivers, and also take the cover off of a fan near by bed, turn it on, and try to chop his fingers off with it. Oh, yeah, there's also several knives in a nearby drawer, a baseball bat, a massive cinderblock, and if I must, a variety of controllers I would use as nun-chuks. 0 seconds here, seeing as my entire room is filled with possibly lethal weapons. Right next to my head whilst laying down in my bed is a 20' subwoofer.
Ontop of that is one of my 5 speakers. I'd use that speaker to flip him onto his back, and attack his weakpoint for massive damage. Other than small electronics...I don't have alot. Big knives and guns are illegal here, y'know |

I have a billy club. But thats downstairs, which would take me 30+ seconds to recover. But I am not worried about such things, nobody is going to rob my house. Go Canada.

1 second to get some Axe to spray him in the face with. Or 7 seconds to go to the kitchen and get a knife.

Originally posted by Earth Luigi-San If you spray him with TAG, chances are he'll go into an unstoppable laugh session, assuming you don't give him an overdose. It's happened at my school before; a couple of my friends came out of the locker room laughing without any reason why, except for inhaling TAG. Weird. But that gives you quite a bit of time to do whatever you want. You can write "RAPIST" on his cheek. We seem to be forgetting something. What if he mastered karate? You'd be screwed. |

Well...there's a somewhat heavy lamp on the nightstand by my bed, a telescope in the corner of my room, and a violin in its case next to my bookshelf, so...anywhere from .2 to 4 seconds and I'd have a blunt object in my hand, ready to whack the wrongdoer in the head.

I have a small metal lamp next to my bed, which would probably be the first thing I'd grab. There's a baseball bat (metal) in my closet, which would take like 10 seconds to get... I also have a hockey stick.
But in reality, if someone was in my house, I'd crap my pants and then cry. |

I have my gun under my bed with some ammo. I'm usually awake for a good portion of the night and I also keep my door closed with some crap blocking it so that my damn kittens won't open my door when I am asleep. If that guy tries to get into my room, then it will take awhile to get that door open and I'll be ready with me gun loaded and once he manages to get inside of my room, BOOM HEADSHOT!
If that fails, then I'll run away like a sissy coward. |

*Note to self. Im SCREWED if someone enters the house* Eh, best thing I can think of is pulling out shelving and bashing people over the head with it (1 second)... or, you know, bashing them with my trombone case (Downstairs, 5-6 seconds) Knives are... 7 seconds away... Pool cues and pool balls are... geez, 10 seconds away... Basement. Well, there is this pair of scissors right next to me... and an old phone. Huge lego models wont do much Heh, an old vaccum cleaner is right here... that could do some damage. If a suitcase counts, then I could use that in 3 seconds... Eh... Maybe I have SOMETHING that would work... *Thinks he should stuff a bat in his closet just in case.* |

If it was the room I was in right now, there's lots of junk on the desk I could throw at him. I could use my brother's DS as a kind of mace thingy, or the DS charger cables, or my laptop's hard drive.... A chain saw blade? Yeah, that can be gotten in less then a second.

The only reason that I have that sledge hammer in my room is because I use it as a hat stand.

I don't keep weapons near me when I sleep. I'm a very deep sleeper, so having a weapon in my room would just be giving the intruder a weapon.

From where I am right now I could throw a few apples and glass dishes within a second or so, which is good because the front door is basically right in front of me. There's also some heavy bags and briefcases behind me. It might take 3 seconds to grab and unplug a nearby clock which could be swung around, and there are other throwables near it. Once he's stunned I head into the kitchen and grab a knife, probably in about 5 seconds.
From my bed I could probably grab a nearby TV that's not hooked up to anything and stand up to smash it over someone's head within 3 seconds. I could also smack and/or smother them with pillows I suppose. Within 5 to 10 seconds I should be able to grab a number of heavy/hard things from within my room, such as planks, speakers, NESes (again with swingable controllers), a cordless phone, and other junk. Worst case scenario, I beat them over the head with my laptop, since that's always nearby. I'd fear wrecking it in the process though. |
