Does anyone know how to take a .jpg and covert it to a .ico
I'm trying to change my desktop icons for recycle and my computer etc. I have photoshop 6 and it doesn't have that as an extension. I've tried removing the .jpg extension and replacing it with .ico but that didn't work.. |

I heard you can rename .bmp files to .ico, but I've never tried it and thus can't vouch for its effectiveness.
You might try CoffeeCup Free Icon Studio. It's a decent program, though no longer available from the official website, for some reason... (edited by Bob M. Frendelkraut, Esq. on 08-13-06 07:29 PM) |

IrfanView does the job, too. It can save as transparent .ico or normal .ico file. (edited by Ice Man on 08-13-06 09:53 PM) |

I couldn't do it in WinXP, but in Windfows 98SE, just make a .BMP in Paint and rename it to .ico. I can't remember though if the colour #000000 was transparent or the the colour matchign the pixel at 0,0 though... | |||
