At last... 7 days full of playing, not enough sleep and laughing to the witnesses, I have finished the whole game. DAMN IT WAS GOOD! Althought I think it was a little short and its kinda game that you play only once fully. I would like to do some more scientific investigation. Any opinions about this game? OBJECTION!

I totally love Phoenix Wright! It's one of the best games I've ever played, and I totally cannot wait for the next one.

You know that I have never played it?
Heh. I should take it from my brother. He never plays his DS I bought him anyway. Him and his overated Xbox 360 and Final Fantasy XI... What's the game like, anyway? I'm curious about the gameplay concepts. From what I've seen you have to object at certain times... I'll snag it from my brother just to give it a round or two. |

It's sort of a detective game.
There are parts that play out sort of like a point-and-click adventure, but the main meat is the courtroom segments. Basically, the story plays out and you're given witness testimony to pick apart: the goal is to take the witness' testimony apart piece-by-piece until you get at the truth. Sometimes they're merely mistaken, sometimes they're outright lying, and sometimes they're the real culprit. Press them for details on their statements for clues, or to reveal weak points in their testimony, and present evidence to point out contradictions. For example, in the first case, you pin the witness on the issue of what time he saw the suspect leave the scene of the crime: the time he recollects in his testimony is three hours off from the actual time of the murder. He then claims he must have heard the time announced on a videotape left playing on TV, but you have evidence to kill that: a record of a blackout occurring during the time of the murder. Present that, and his statement comes to pieces, and he invents another version of events to try and confound you. Eventually he breaks down completely when you finally reveal that his web of lies has actually revealed himself to be the murderer. It sounds dull, but the presentation is awesome, and the cases are full of plenty of twists. It's definitely worth the hype. |

Am I the only one who thinks an Edgeworth game would be awesome? Just think about it; Miles Edgeworth: Proficient Prosecutor. The best part would be making up lies, but even if everyone you are prosecuting is guilty, it'd still be awesome.
Which brings me to a point: Phoenix Wright's clients were all innocent. Could he successfully defend someone who is guilty? If so, just how extreme could he go in getting someone off? Are we talking some small-time crook guilty, O.J. Simpson guilty, maybe even Saddam Hussein guilty, or what? |
