Perpetual Rocket Boost. It's a trick to drastically extend the length of boosts from a rocket start and boost panels through snaking. (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 08-02-06 01:19 PM) |

Oh. I've done that type of thing before... But if I ever tried it on Rainbow Road, chances are I'll fall off or a head-on collision into the wall. I liked how the Rainbow Road in MK: Super Circuit worked; the ramps on the sides of the course helped me skip about half of it; shaving off about an extra 30 seconds or so on the total time. I just watched the replay yesterday, and I just couldn't believe how I managed to do that.
If I can pull off that PRB, I might be able to be about 20 seconds in front of my sister. I already can get ahead of her by 10 with minimal snaking. She doesn't play much... I remember when I was playing Wi-Fi, I had to eat since the food was ready. I hit Start, thinking I could pause it. (I had no idea what I hell I was thinking.) I put the DS down for about a minute, and I realized what happened. The guy just finished. There was this other time when my cellphone died, so I had to use the payphone outside to get my sister's friend code. As I got up, I hit my leg on a metallic chair bolted to the floor. It made a loud "CLANG" noise. I looked around, and saw that everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me. |

You guys don't know what I'm talking about, but you think you do.
And that's sad. |

I just find it funny that "snaking" is the accepted term for a technique that doesn't really look much like a snake at all; it's just powersliding at every available opportunity.
F-Zero GX...now THAT'S snaking. I'm not well-versed in MK beyond that, so I'll take my leave now. |

Well, it USED to be called SSMTing (straight stretch mini-turbo), but snaking caught on with the newbies, and there are just so many more of them, and it just won out through being seen more often.

I was in the middle of a little Wi-Fi story, so I thought I'd include that event. It's loosely related to Wi-Fi, so I thought, "Bah, what the hell, I'll put it in there."

I hope this isn't considered a bump, it's only 5 days old...
Anyway, this is a great game. I already sent you (Sukasa) a PM, but I wanted to post to show others my code. It's 339378-624196. I'm no pro or anything, but I'm definitely not mediocre. Heck, I don't even have a start by my name, though that's because I wasn't good when I beat all the prix's. I retried the leaf cup today and got 3 starts first try, though. Anyway, just like Sukasa, if anyone wants to race me, send me a PM. I snake, but if you don't and think I shouldn't, just let me know in your PM. I do love this game! Though it ticks me off when people have bad emblems. Anyway, I like the Wi-Fi portion alot. My closest race ever that I won was against "Yumi", with 580+ wins, 600+ losses. As of now, my wins/losses are 66:19, though, and I wouldn't mind a few more, or at least a challenge. Reading this back over, the elements in my post seem to tie in together less and less. I'm just tired, I guess. (edited by Goldensunboy on 08-13-06 01:36 PM) (edited by Goldensunboy on 08-13-06 03:44 PM) |

I'm miles above everyone else on the board, but I figured I'd post this question here anyway, since this seems like the best place. Here goes-ies.
I can't seem to decide what kart is better - the Egg 1, or the Dry Bomber. Certainly, these two karts are far and away the best, but... Eh. The Dry Bomber's advantage is obvious - the acceleration is better, and thus it recovers from items more easily, it recieves longer boosts from miniturbos, and thus it is much, much better for PRBing. The Egg 1 can still PRB, and it's faster, it can dodge blue shells much easier, and when not PRBing it recieves less of a penalty for going off-course. Hmm. They really are about even...
