I'm having a problem with the vanilla dome door...I'm not sure how to make the door open after an event...what i want to happen is as follows: When mario beats a level i want him to walk to the door, which will then open...and take him to the vanilla dome.. Right now mario beats the level and then walks up to the door but he gets stuck cause the door doesn't open. All help is appreciated. Thanks

Click the unrevealed door in the overworld editor and select "Modify Level Tile Settings..." under the overworld menu. Set it to be revealed on the event you have to walk into it. For example, if the level before the door sets off event 17, you would set the door to reveal on event 17. That's all there is to it. (edited by asdf on 07-29-06 02:41 PM) |

Does anyone have any ideas? help? Thanks again..

Yeah, you'll want to put a red vertical path tile down and connect the two. That's basically what the door is, but it has a graphic. If you don't know how to do that, then uh, I suggest reading an overworld tutorial. (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 07-29-06 04:25 PM) |

you suggested to lay down a vertical red path tile...but even if i put one on the overworld map and another one in the vanilla dome where i want mario to exit the overworld and enter the vanilla dome it still wont work.....because i cant tell the red path tile in the overworld to take mario to the vanilla dome...any other suggestions? help?

It doesn't have to be set to vanilla dome at the start. Once the red exit movement tile has its exit index selected, it'll be set to where it is regardless of the initial submap. Once you set the indexes it'll work, if you set them right.

Oh, I think you haven't read LM's help file, which says a right way to set down these DAMN exit tiles. And, don't put any two exit tiles next to each other. |
