Well, take it from me, it takes good knowledge of html. Which I obviously don't have, lol. A good site to learn some basics, if you don't already, would be http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com, there are also quite a few more. Having a good idea of what you want is going to help a lot, too. Background picture is the only easy part of creating a layout on here, that I know of so far.

Another method that many users take is to ask another member for their layout code and just edit its images/colors. It's convenient for those who don't really understand html and couldn't make a decent layout from scratch.

No one will help you make that layout. It has a scrollbar.

That's a hint telling you to steal it from Ailure.

Untrue, but the general rule is that people h8 scrollbar layouts. Any way to turn a scroll layout into a stretch is appreciated.

No, it's the regular scroll bar and the small one like Cirvante's.

Everyone hates scroll boxes... that is to say, well, yes, actually everyone does hate them.
Easy thing to do is to go to "View->Page Source" if you have lololol or simply "view-> Source" In IE, and use Ctrl-F to find the user's code that you want to start from... if it is CSS you'll probably need to follow a link or two, though, to get some of the formatting. Good way to learn a lot about how to manipulate HTML. Take the code and paste the raw HTML into a personal site like Freewebs and build from there. But like admins. and mods say... test it rigorously... because broken layouts wreck havoc. |
