Well,After I was looking through a few old gaming bullitens,I saw something strange.....
Nintendo uses emulator for Legends of Zelda : Collectors Adition So i thought,if i used my MaxDrive memory card to store games, and the emulator made by Nintendo to play them on,I would have a nearly flawless n64 on a GCN. |

You should know how crappy the emulator Nintendo made and used, though.

It doesn't play MM perfectly. It crashes often.

It actually worsens over time. Mine rarely ever crashed when I first got it but now it crashes almost every time I play it. My suggestion, make a better one yourself.

Originally posted by Tanks That's nearly impossible; the only plausible explanation is that it screws up with the save support. |

Originally posted by HyperMackerel It actually is pretty scratched. But that was only recently. It could be what happens to every good game system over time. It starts to die... I think thats the problem. (edited by Tanks on 07-11-06 08:31 AM) |

System or game?
And cartridges are one thing; CDs typically don't deteriorate over time, more from physical abuse. |

Originally posted by CeliceOriginally posted by richyawyingtmvOriginally posted by Doritokiller Haha. I just realised how stupid my reply was there. What I meant to say was that it runs 5 or so games, but only a couple run even averagely well. It was released with the Zelda games, but it can also successfully run SM64 and MK64, which I don't think was the intention of Nintendo. |

Originally posted by Celice Not usually, but sometimes they will rot away, especially if the cases that they are stored in contains an agent that messes up with the disc chemicals. A rather common example is that DVDs produced before 2003 are becoming unplayed, due to a chemical in the plastic that was previously unknown to rot away the DVD. And the companies claimed that backups are unnecessary... GameCube discs are, after all, miniture DVDs, I'm not sure weather GameCube cases had the same mistake, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. |

Should I have added, "compared to a cartridge's list of ways to bork?"

Originally posted by richyawyingtmv I've heard (but not confirmed) that there's a list of game titles in the ISO somewhere, apparently listing games that either it can run or that they had planned to port. It included Wave Race 64, and I think Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. Anyway it's just a generic N64 emulator, they developed it enough that it could run OoT, then added 8MB support and considered it to be compatible with MM, and released it. It has some compatibility problems, but it does what it's meant to do, for the most part. |
