PS2 reliability? I had a Ps2 at launch (and the welcopme pack to prove it), and it still works now.
Me too, but I got the disc read error thing and ended up buying a new one around early 2005. Then, I later cracked it open and cleaned it up. Gave it to my little sister.
On the other side of your argument, I only know one person getting a PS3. Everyone I know is getting a Wii.
I have the grounds to assume you hang out with the bumper sticker shirt crowd. Realistically, your average american consumer is: Getting an 360 or saving up for a PS3
It is mediocre. At least the quality is, most of the time.
It's not mediocre. You feel the product is fragile or less durable than others, sure.
And I still don't think it can replace a computer.
Sony said they'd replace the computer(or something along those lines) back with the PS2, you shouldn't ever believe it from anyone.
If the Wii isn't higher than $200 and has some neat games, I'll pick one up.
As far as my primary system goes, I think I'll wait until the cards are on the table.
