What is, in your opinion, the best sound effect ever, of any game you've ever played, for any console or even computer? My vote goes to the dissapointing "wuh-wuh-wuuuh-wuh" sound effect when you successfully block a Bandit's steal attempt in Paper Mario. Not the sequel, the original. Coupled with his severely depressed facial expression, it's simultaneously the most hilarious and best sound effect of any game I've ever played.

How about you?

One of my favorite sound effects comes from Mario Kart DS. In Waluigi Pinball, everytime you get an item, the sound effects sound like a slot machine which is badass.

In river city ransom when you hit a lead pipe thrown to you. It's funnier if you pick a guy from the floor and hit the pipe with his head. Clang! (High pitch)

Well this sound effect is in a lot of anime/video games, but I love it. It's the "ooooh!" sound that was in such titles as Tenchi Muyo! and in Final Fantasy IX(during the fake wedding).

The effect in Tactics Ogre, when a character misses its target (just when the "Miss" appears) for the SNES version (not the PSX version, though) is pretty cheap, but somehow nice.
Moving the cursor in Dr. Mario & Panel De Pon (GBA) or in Paper Mario's main and battle menu are also getting my attention. I have a flair for minimalistic sound effects.

And not to forget, if the hero in Mario 64 falls on Lava, the cry he makes somehow sounds "fun"

I like that one too. My favorite, however, is the one that Dark Force emits when the music starts.

That sounds effect is awesome.

One of the funniest I can think of is the sound of something blubbery hitting a solid ground. In Space Station Silicon Valley (N64), drop a robot from high up to hear it. It's hilarious...

It kinda sounds like a *WHAP*.

Quoted for truth.

I dunno why, but the throw sound in Gunstar Heroes has always appealed to me, the little "HA!" that the guy yells out when he hurls an enemy into the air is kinda cute. I like a lot of sound effects from games, but the ones that stick out to me most are the little touches that go here and there.
