But I'd still have to say Sonic CD has, and probably will always be my favorite Sonic game. It was just so simple, as simple as the original, with amazing music (both US and Japanese soundtracks), and some the levels were really different and unique (Wacky Workbench?).

I honestly haven't enjoyed any of the Sonic games since the Genesis era. I thought the first Adventure was decent, but after that it just went completely down hill if you ask me.

And now they keep on introducing stupid characters like Shadow, and give them their own games. Sonic with guns, awesome ...


Yeah my thoughts exactly! True Classics. I havent heard the japanese soundtracks of Sonic CD though, and a lot people say thats better than the US soundtrack.

Getting all the emeralds so i could play as Super Sonic THROUGHOUT the game was what gave me the incentive to look for secrets in those games. I've played the ones since, and it was kind of disappointing how they dumped that concept (although Sonic Cd is an exception in my book as getting all the time stones was important for the actual gameplay rather than just at the end alone which still counts for something).
