Alright, below is an image of what a newly designed level I just started working on looks like. I used ExGFX to create a new-looking mega mole (the red bug thing) and the BG. I enabled a custom pallete to edit the mole's and the level's colors.
However, when I test play it the graphics are messed up as shown: See, the background is messed up and the colors are funky on mario and my new mega mole. Someone please help me? Oh yeah, while I'm at it, here are some more screenies of Mario Z... Newly reworked title screen and the "in production" Rain World OW. Yes, those jellyfish are 4 frame animated. |

Those screenshots are mad! GJ!
That's a GFX problem, which I know nothing about... |

I'm helping here:The glitched backgrounds with the blue blocks and the green snot have to go. I'm sorry.
Other than that, even though some of the graphics don't fit too well with mario, you did place a good amount of effort in the graphics. I dig the underwater screen! (edited by [GGS] Cruel Justice on 06-04-06 11:07 AM) |

Are you guys gonna help him or just compliment his hack?! Jesus!
(Nice hack btw) lol Anyway... It looks to me like its your palette. Custom palette doesn't change Mario or Luigi's palettes. (The red/green colors to the right of Mega Mole's... And remember that Mega Mole's brown colors are the same as Mario's shoes... Changing them will (unlike Mario's other colors) affect Mario. Post a screenshot of your palettes; I'll see if I can decipher it. *Edit - Oh... And I'm gonna have to know what colors you used for the new Mega Mole. (A snap of the 8x8 Editor window will work just fine. (edited by JJokerDude on 06-04-06 10:55 AM) |

Mega Mole shares a palette with Mario. You're overwriting parts of Mario's palette, which is why he looks wrong. After the first few colors of the Mario palette, custom palettes have no effect on that palette, which is why your Mega Mole replacement looks wrong.
The obvious solution is to change what palette Mega Mole uses and edit that with a custom palette (making sure nothing else in the level uses that palette). |

1) insert the exgfx
2) use map 16 to make the things you want 3) SAVE THE MAP 16 PAGE. This may be the problem with the background. I've done it loads. You have to save the map 16 or it won't look look how you wanted it to when played. I'm guessing that Alastor is right about the mega mole pallette share, but I don't do much with enemies until the end of a hack. If my information was useless, sorry. |
