Okay, this may be me being stupid, but I looked around a bit and... Stalfos room? What's that referring to?
Otherwise, this is rather awesome stuff. Rather unexpected to see it come from nowhere like this, but no complaints here. |

This is the Stalfos Room:
I haven't bothered to fix it fully yet, I'm just making a note that it is possible to fix (for people who know about it). Hyperhacker has written up a lot of information on the Debug Rom http://hypernova.amarok-shadow.com/MyStuff/oot_debug/ (edited by Cadohacan on 05-21-06 03:42 AM) |

Why not create a patch for the beta rom so people can patch it on their Ocarina of Time rom. It will probally be hard for some people to find the debug rom, even harder for people on low bandwith conections.
On a side note since your picture looks broken to me Last thing this is a great find, and I want to play a 3D A Link to the past too. I love beta stuff, it's so fun to mess with. (edited by Darkdata on 05-21-06 11:26 AM) |

It is not a Beta ROM and it is not 'patchable', it's a decompressed verison of Master Quest and requires 8 MB of RAM rather then Ocarina of Time's 4 MB of RAM.

This all looks very, very interesting. And I would actually love to try this stuff out, but after numerous searches I simply cannot find the rom.
EDIT - I've got it. Aha. Time to test this out. (edited by richyawyingtmv on 05-21-06 03:59 PM) |

Aw, you mean people are actually reading that document? Now I have to actually update it.
Originally posted by Darkdata No you couldn't. The patch would be about 64MB, because the debug ROM is a complete recompile, and IPS only supports up to 16MB even if you were dumb enough to do that. |

Wow, I didn't know about this OOT debug version, and I didn't know about this page either:
http://hypernova.amarok-shadow.com/MyStuff/oot_debug/ There's too much cool stuff in this page, this debug mode looks very extensive and full of interesting stuff. Too bad I'm busy with the Super Mario 64 level editor as I would spend hours playing with it |

I've downloaded a set of OoT roms from some site wich I won't mention here, this set includes Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time - Master Quest (E) [!]. Is this the one I need? Or could anyone tell me wich filename I must use. Becaue Google hasn't been all that helpful yet.

Originally posted by Coby It will be very obvious if you find the debug ROM since if you load the first file, you will be brought to a level select menu. The same method applies to the regular 4 MB verison of Ocarina of Time, but you will need to factor in compression to figure out it's actual start and end locations. I don't think the data needs to be compressed for the normal ROM either, though I'm not entirely postive. It's just a lot easier to use the debug build of Master Quest for hacking maps. |

The debug version is 64MB and has no N64 logo, and when you press buttons it shows little squares in the bottom right corner.

God damnit, I can't find it anywhere. The goddamned torrent is broken, and it doesn't appear to be on google, unless I'm not searching the right thing. If it is on google, can someone tell me what to search for?
