Hi all over there, as little child i loved pokémon... now i'm 16 years old and expierienced coder, so i thought it meight be able to create a pokémon RPG game on the internet...
All based on the original pokémon graphics. But to get these graphics there is rom hacking required...
Since i'm new to rom hacking, i don't know how, what, where and when...

So my question is, if anyone is interested in working together with me on developing a pokémon RPG in Java, contact me please (or leave a message here)

Greets,

You're at least the third guy to come up with this idea so far. Getting the images is quite easy compared to putting them back in, though...

can you tell me, why didn't those other ideas work, and if you can get me the images... it would be AWSOME for me

And well, i have a certain idea how to put the images back for usage, and make a complete map, that actually wouldn't be a problem i think...

it's just like, you make a map file with just letters and numbers are refer to the grapfics (or even a hexadecimal file or something like that) and then let it load by the java, and read it, and then load character file, check character location, and find the spot on the world map and then in a range of X squares you 'transelate' the map code to know wich images to load, and then instantly generate the map from the code of the tile... i think this is a good way to load the graphics...

The actual graphics that are in need:
- map tiles (i'd prefer .gif)
- a basic pokemon map (jotho, kanto, ...) (to see how it looks originally)
- all pokemon icons/images (i'd prefer .gif)
- all trainer and human icons/images (i'd prefer .gif)
- all pokemon graphics' back and front look for the fights (i'd prefer .gif)
- all other aditional graphics i didn't mention (hp bars, exp bars, menu bers, ...) (i'd prefer .gif)

Also what would be VERY usefull is a person who knows ALOT about pokemons really detailed (moves, speeds, weaknesses, attack powers, defense powers, etc etc, ...) - i can't do this myself because it's like 3 years ago i played pokemon myself :d:p

EliteMap's base stat editor has a little easter egg that dumps all the stats to a big HTML file.
