VLC isn't magic, you'd still need the Windows Media codecs | |||

I use the free version of Flip4Mac, which gives Quicktime the capability to decode WMV. It's worked on newer WMV's that I couldn't play in Mplayer or VLC. (I heard that WMP for OS X was a crappy port, so I never installed it.) | |||

Yeah, I ended up getting flip4mac. It's working great for what I needed it for, which was videos that my friend takes with his camera and puts on his computer as .wmv. |
