It doesn't even have to be that much. Think, if older people can't handle it, it can't be THAT much higher than normal hearing. Blasting music would most likely drown it out.

Or you know, if they're a real problem, they could just find it and break it.

Really, there are thousands of ways for people to get through this, hell, cut the power to the building if the trouble makers are doing illegal things, they might as well start cutting power cords.

You must have not been in a physics or music audio technology class before. Fortunately for me, I have.

It doesn't matter how loud something is playing... it depends on the frequency and the location of where you are. Older people can't hear it because they LOST that sense of frequency (when you listen to something, even if it's not very loud, you'll eventually be unable forever to be able to listen to that frequency. Sound is obtained in your ear when vibrations rub against little hairs inside your ear, and the more powerful the sound waves, the easier it is to shed those hairs... even if the sound is not that loud). So, volume doesn't matter. By turning your music up you'll still hear the sound, and you'll be hurting your ears at the same time.

You have learned, young padawan.

It should be with the mentality that the next generation will be the ones that will eventually put you in the Home.

Well it makes sense. If adults are driving the teenagers away, then why shouldn't they drive the adults away?

This is very true. no physics for me till next year... oh wait, I have to do Chemistry before that.

Still, I don't understand that, if someone speaks and music is simply overwhelmingly loud, you can't hear them, whats the difference.

Another disadvantage to this, that's not just that its unfair, is that dogs would go insane

I figured you would say that. There's a bit of a difference between that, but I can't really explain it. It has something to do with the frequencies. I can't give you a precise answer on that part because I can't remember everything I learned. But one of the main points of it is... that your ears will 'splode if you turn your music up too high.

What in the...
What a bad idea. Not all teenagers (or anyone under 20, for that matter) loiter. In fact, only a small amount do that often. Is it worth losing the business of all other teens just to get rid of those few loitering ones?
At the Jack in the Box by my house, a lot of people from my school hang out there. I guess it's the local hangout for all the assholes at my school.
But it's Jack in the Box... think of all the business they'd lose if they used this thing.
Man, this idea sucks.

I really hate it when people compare teenagers to annoying pests. Sure, some teenagers are like that. But then, hey, so are some people in every age group. Especially senior citicens.

I think that they just will get pissed and thatīll attract even more loiters that not only loiter. Theyīll cause trouble too.

So itīs a really bad idea.

Great idea. All the old hobos and homeless people can congregate outside your store and build a shanty town, since there won't be any teenagers to hassle them.

It's called a food chain; take out Teenagers, and you'll have annoying and angry old men to deal with. Take out them, and Soccer moms... etc.

Kindof a vicious cycle now that you put it that way Metal...
Maybe if you turned up "Dragostaintea" in the store you'll keep a lot of people out... then again, you'll attract geeks. Wow, this is difficult!

Just leave it! Honestly, teenagers aren't THAT BAD. At least not anywhere I can think of. It's just not worth it.

You would hate how most teens act in my neighborhood. You'd be very surprised... Some stores need it, other stores can do without it. A debatable topic, I don't see why this couldn't be put in the Debate forum instead.

This isn't a device you'd have on constantly, but something to drive away any kids who are outside your store driving away\scaring away your paying customers. Just a flip of the switch kinda thing to push em away, and then turn off when they're gone.

Sure, it's an odd and questionable device, but if used properly.. I see nothing wrong with it. It certainly would be bad to leave that on "constantly" though, yes.

There are bad kids though, who smoke, drink, cuss.. All that in front of stores, or in store parking lots. It's bad for buisness when those kids just hang around there.. And asking them to leave, more often than not does not work..

I agree though, not ALL teens are like this, and that's why I wouldn't like to see this device as being used constantly. (Just a flip of the switch thing.) But anything can be abused really, it's all a matter of the person who uses it.

And once again, my intelligence and attitude are judged solely by my age by someone who doesn't know shit about me.

Besides, I don't think I'd mind. My fire alarm goes off every time my mom cooks, and I listen to high-pitched old-school game music. A wee little buzzer isn't going to make much difference. (Though I may leave just because they do it - and take my money elsewhere.)

I listen to old-school game music too. I believe itīs called chip tunes.

Iīve heard about an alarm that makes burglars puke. But donīt think itīd be a good idea to use that either. More to clean.
