You FEEL like you've given up, but th important thing is, you haven't. Don't let my apparent negativity rub off on you (my attitude is just borne out of my inability to really fit in, whilst you have), you're someone people trust and look up to and that's the benchmark I've ben striving for. Your kindness in my darkest days is part of what drove me to this board. By all means if you feel the fun has gone for you, then perhaps it's time to leave, but you will be sadly missed by all here, plus I'd tend my resignation in tandem with yours - This job, and this forum just won't be the same without you. We don't chat much, but you're a true friend, and I still owe you and Chris a drink as a wedding pressie  |

| Day 1 – 17th March 2006
Weight – 393 lbs Mood - Hopeful Hello, my name is Ellis Meredith-Owen and I am approximately 200 lbs overweight. There I typed it. You’ll never know how hard that was to type. You might see lots of confessions such as that in this mini blog of mine, but I think that one will be the most striking, especially as most of you don’t even weigh the amount I’m overweight by. You see all my life I’ve been involved in various battles, but this one is probably the most crucial – if I don’t win this one it’ll literally be the death of me. In my darkest days, not so long ago, I’d reckon that most people probably wouldn’t care if I ended it all, least of all myself – but as of right now, I’m fighting back. I’m damned if I’m going to let this ruin my life entirely. It’s not going to be easy, it’s already proving pretty rough, so bear with me. I suppose the reason I’m making this public is that I’m not hiding it anymore, there’s now no excuses, no escape, and no way back. A relapse into my old ways of gaining comfort from foods that could kill me is no longer an option. The thing is, the task ahead of me seems pretty daunting, it feels like I’m going to try and break down a wall with a toothpick. If I’m honest with you all, I’m scared. Scared that no matter how hard I try, I’ll remain like this forever – cold, alone and isolated. But fear is not going to stop me. It can’t stop me. Not this time. By posting this blog, I suppose I feel that I’m not doing this alone, although ultimately whether I fail or succeed is due to me and my willpower and tenacity. I enrolled with Weight Watchers yesterday which is how I found out my weight (a number I’ve shied away from finding out for years now), and hopefully by following their points programme, and with decent excercise, I’ll lose the weight I need. So there’s your intro. Today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I hope by showing this commitment, it’ll be a long and fruitful one. Until next time, take care. |

| Ah, you Americans have had it WAY to easy, I¡¦m more than pleased at the prospect of a simultaneous worldwide release than anything else, although 1,000,000 machines at launch doesn¡¦t seem all that much truth be told. What¡¦ll Europe get? 12?
Hmm¡K I wonder if the worldwide simultaneous release of Games will be a reality too. Oh and as the PS3 will be backwards compatible with the entire library of the previous generations (that¡¦s ENTIRE, hear that Xbox360?), does this mean it¡¦ll have the largest launch line up in history of any console? (Apart from Revolution) BTW did anyone read the side comment on the PSP? PSOne Emulation will be available soon ¡V FF7 on the go, Woo hoo! (Ok so technically I¡¦d need a 2Gb memory card for that, but still¡K Portable Parappa sounds good for me.) . Also Flash compatibility also means ¡§Badger Badger Badger¡¨ on the go too ƒº |

| Self harming is something I know quite a bit about - I'm even trained to deal with it. It's a way of taking control, and this is why you're doing it.
I'm not entirely sure you've tied up loose ends yet, but if you do want advice on getting over someone, rule numero uno would definately be.... stickm by your friends, it's a terrible time to be alone and company certainly helps. Time's the best healer I'm afraid, but good luck mate, we've all been there  |

| Day 8 - 23rd March 2006
Starting Weight - 393 lbs Current weight - 385lbs Weekly Weight Loss - 8lbs (!) Mood - Buoyant Well it was my first weigh in and I was nervous, I just wanted to lose SOMETHING after all the effort I've put in to this and was blown away. Over half a stone in a week is beyond all my expectations, that said I'm a realist and know it won't be like that every week. Still. I'm very happy, estatic in fact
So I'm hoping to lose at least 1lb next week, it'l be tough as I'm going on hols with a client on the weekend (Takeaways galore), but I've saved up some 20 extra points to cope with it. Thanks for all your support, it means loads
Taryn - To answer your questions, excercise? Well I'm still a bit self conscious about going back to the gym, but I walk half the way to work (1 1/2 miles each way, so that's 3 miles a day), making sure it's a brisk walk. I also play DDR for half hourly stints at least 3 times a week. Ok so it might not be a very vigerous regime but it certainly gets my heart pumping. Drinks? Black tea and coffee with sweeteners, that or cordial (no sugar). |

As for why, there are loads of reasons, too many to get into - but I suppose reason number 1 is that it's not fun anymore. Whilst I like dispensing advice and heloing you out, I feel that perhaps I'm noit that good at it, and besides who am I to give advice on things such as diet and relationships? LOL let's face it I'm not a roaring success story in either respect : I'll never turn my back on anyone in need of help though so if someone genuinely does need advice, them PM me, or E-mail me anytime I'll try and get back to you as soon as possible Take care and hwyl fawr.

Day 18 - 1st April 2006

Starting Weight - 393 lbs Last Week's weight - 385lbs Current weight - 385.5lbs Weekly Weight Loss - None, a gain of 0.5 lbs Mood - Dark To be honest I was expecing a gain. I'd been away all weekend, a VERY strssful one with work, I had no access to any fruit (I'm not kidding there was no opportunity to get any), so I was climbing up the walls basically, but still I didn't reach for the chocolate, I just... well I suppose ate more of the wrong sort of things otherwise I would have had to forgo fod entirely. I tried in vain to make up for it, but it wasn't good enough. I think I might gain this week too, I've been close to tears trying to work out my points, on the day of the weigh in I lost track and had a Mushroom Stroganoff for tea whilst out, and then tonight my family got me a Chow Mein. I seem to be seesawing between having meals with very litt;e points (i.e a salad, or a banana) and points rich meals. My moods have also nosedived and everything seenms so much harder. But I'm not caving in.... not yet.

Nah Modern Psychologists label disorders "Autism" when they know vaguely what it does but haven't a clue what it is, sort of like saying you have a stomach bug when it could be a multitude of things with the same symptoms.
