These are... mmm... Superb. Yummy to the point of too quickly eaten, yet superb.

It's hard for me to pin down why I like them, aside from, well, making me laugh. They make sense in a way that most sprite comics do not.

Yes, the Superman reference is obvious, but there is a reference within a reference here, and noone's going to get it.

Well, it's a black mage, and the word black and the word superman remind me of the movie Remember The Titans. But that wouldn't make it funny. So whatev', tossing that out there.

According to the back of an old Nintendo product, it is not only illegal to create/own/use a duplicate of the game, but also to modify the game or any such duplicates. So it follows that it's slightly worse to have a hacked ROM than a 'fresh' one.

But no, hacking a rom does not increase the likelihood of anyone capable of punishing you caring in any way.

So no one is going to come to your house and arrest you for playing someone's (or your) hack of SMB1 on your computer, if that's what you're asking.

Thanks, everyone who voted for me. Because, you know, no one did. And I didn't win anything. Whee.

Grats, all. Especially Grey, Schwa, and Kirbynite, you guys rule.

Yeah, I ought to make myself more... regular in the new year.

I just realized something. Acmlm's board is the first internet community I have actually wanted to be a part of. Congratulations.

Legend of Mana (PSX)
This is an amazing-superb game. Everything from what type of weapon your main character uses to the very world you adventure in can be changed with decisions in-game. It follows many storylines, and you can choose which one(s) to participate in. One of the most unique RPGs I've ever played. The real fun, though, comes when you play the game alongside a friend, adding an interesting co-op element. Oh, and the music... (stoned trance)

Terranigma (SNES) (Translated? I'm not sure)
You play as a Chrono-esque character who uses a spear and is trying to rebuild the world. the combat system is fully within the dungeon map system, leading to opportunities like shoving annoying opponents into pits. The dungeons themselves are long and challenging, and the towns are small but offer just the services you need. Do Not play this game if you want to always be using magic, the magic system sucks. But besides that, this is a really awesome RPG. Ditto the stoned trance for the music. Super awesome, yo.

I concur with Cheveyo on basically all of his points.

Interesting. The word bubbles and punctuation could use a bit of work, and the close-up of the face at the end looks rather crude, and lacks similarity to actual faces.

That said, looks pretty cool. Keep it up.

A soft, concerned male voice echoes through the room, coming from everywhere and nowhere...

"Hmm. All of you are after this one sword... No thoughts for the past, nor the future. There is always a reason for a weapon to be sealed away. It seems that I must again protect the spirit held back by the strength of the blade... Very well. None of you will succeed..."

A man walks through the wall behind the sword's pedestal. He wears loose garments of featureless black cloth, with a bright blue belt covered in various intricate symbols tied tightly around his waist. A white cloak fails to billow dramatically behind him, instead clinging to the surprisingly dusty robes. His black sandaled feet click softly as he walks swiftly to the sword, reaching out a pale ungloved hand to stroke the blade. His brilliant blue eyes shine with satisfaction as he smiles at the retained edge of the weapon he once called his own. Idly, he tosses his short black hair, then curls both hands into fists as he leaps over the pedestal, turning a flip in midair to land lightly in a fighting stance, his unarmed thin body nevertheless defending the morbid structure behind him.

"Though Black Thunder may disagree with me, I can't let any of you take him away. However, the contest has already began... So my only course of action is to defeat you. Let us have an excellent battle."

He pauses for a moment, uncertain.

"Ah, yes. My name is Snow. Now, forgive my interruption, please. Continue your combat."

Snow waits, perhaps eagerly, for an attack to be directed at him...

(ooc: ugh. How is "R.O.B.: Grabs opponent and Throws him" a description of your character? And I see no mention of where the "DANGER! CRUSHING SPIKED WALLS, SNAKE PITS AND OTHER TRAP CLICHES" room came from, nor what it is. After all, the sign on the outside could very well be misleading. So if you continue to not explain your actions and their likely consequences, I'll just have to be very mean indeed about the entire situation.

And ZIM? ...why?

On a related note, please try to be careful and spell more accurately. You have plenty of time to look over what you write, and there's really no excuse for "Togeather, these 3 villans ALlWAYSE fight as a team!" So really, I'm sad and angry because of this.)

(ooc: As you wish, I will stop complaining. Interestingly enough, you seem to be unfamiliar with the way that out of character speech happens in null-time. You see, Snow hasn't even been thrown in there yet. Observe.)

Snow was initially surprised with the speed at which the ROB closed the distance between them and threw him with what must have been supernatural strength. However, as he soars through the damp underground air, he glows for a moment with a soft green light, and his path changes. Instead of heading towards certain oblivion, he directs himself towards a stone pillar, off of which he jumps with amazing speed towards the transformed NES X. As he approaches, Snow draws out of seemingly nowhere a lance made of some type of blue crystal, positioning it to skewer the offending robot. He'd rather not actually have to fight, but that's how the story goes...

Yes, there's more than zero ways in hell smoking could kill you.

Like, just about every possible kind of lung disease.

And you can give other people around you the same diseases.

Which is why it's not as socially acceptable.

Perhaps the reason I'm angered by your short burst of ignorance is that two of my grandparents died from their smoking.

But I guess you're right, there's no reason not to.

After all, it never kills anyone anyone knows, right?

Oh. Wait.

I put soy sauce and vinegar on my rice. It's not gross, but since plenty of people hate vinegar, I thought I'd mention it.

But the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten is vomit. My own. Anyone want me to elaborate?

The trouble with WTF is that no one plays it, so when people go in, there's no one playing, so they just leave.

It's really sad, because it's really fun when you get to play it with funny people. I got to, once. Those were good days.

Well, she probably wasn't, because she was comparing it to drinking, and said that smoking didn't make you forget things.

And if she was, the real danger in marijuana is that you never know if it has something else in it or not. A Relative (as much anonymity as possible) took some one day, lost consciousness, and though he was physically awake, he didn't mentally or emotionally come back to us (more specifically, my parents and their siblings) for ~15 years. One hit of 'pure' marijuana doesn't do that. To this day we don't know what it was he took.

As Popple attempts to grab the spear from out of his hands, Snow smiles slightly. Whatever Popple uses to try to steal it passes right through, in fact causing electrical damage to whatever it was. The spear only exists for you if Snow wants it to, and since it didn't exist for Popple, his instrument of theft clutched in vain at the air.

After driving his lance hard into NESX, Snow jumps backwards with equal speed, kicking off of the same pillar at the same speed towards Yukiro. If it works the first time, try, try again... After the first impact, some runes begin to form along the length of the weapon. They're very complex, and they don't seem to be doing anything yet... but they're worth noting.

Sucky. But I prefer the 'original', as it's far more trippy.

So, how was this created? Did someone take the opening movie of the game, delete practically everything else, and build it from scratch? In that case, it'd be at least respect-deserving, in the same way that hacks like Sonic Advance 3: Extreeem Mansecks command respect: It requires a large amount of knowledge, even though it is applied in an exceedingly stupid way. Almost as stupid as the grammar in this paragraph.

And who made it? I want to kill them.

Short side, always. But it took some thought, as the weird way I disassemble letters requires a letter opener and quite a bit of manual dexterity. But that's the end I slide the contents out, and it's the most damaged of the edges.

But Squash won this thread already, so meh.
